Does Willie Roaf really deserve higher mention than Joe Jacoby?

He does

It sadly has become a popularity contest ... and the only popularity that counts is if you kissed the reporters backsides.

Large markets dominate it as well

Chris hanburger should have been in years ago

The Washington Redskins are about as big of a market as they come...

Well overdue, though I doubt he makes it. Does Willie Roaf really deserve higher mention than Joe Jacoby?

Cris Carter and Marshall Faulk will both get in - too many friends in the media for it not too happen.

And Deion for sure.

Why do you doubt he makes it? I think senior nominees often get in.

Also, re Carter and Faulk, really don't know where you're going with that at all. Carter has been a finalist several times in the past. So has Shannon Sharpe (who also has plenty of friends in the media). I can't imagine an argument to exclude either on the merits.

Cris Carter went to 8 Pro Bowls, has 13,899 receiving yards, is #3 in career receptions, and #4 in career TD receptions. He is one of only six WR's to surpass 1,000 career receptions, and is regarded as having the best hands in the history of the game. He will get in because he earned it, not because he has friends in the media. Not bad for someone whose early career was derailed by alcohol, weed, and ectasy use.

As for Faulk, over 12,000 rushing, over 6,000 yards receiving, 100 TD's...I think that also speaks for itself.

If Bettis gets in the Martin should get in first. Very similar stats except Martin fumbled much less and had over 2x as many catches than Bettis. He also ran for more yards and led the league in rushing his 2nd to last year, Bettis never led the league in rushing yards. He also ran for 1000+ every year except his last, 10 times. Bettis only did it 8 times in 13 seasons.

Oh great. I guess this is the year were going to have to listen to Peon's sorry ass. Oh, and he counts as a Redskin as well, lol.

...not if we show up in numbers and boo his sorry butt.........he will always be a Cowboy to me, especially after the way he tried to weasel out of his contract in 2001 by playing baseball again and how he later lied about wanting to play for the Raiders so Snyder would release him after he "retired".

He deserves to be in. His competition is Les Richter. No way that guy was better. Only played 8 years based on what I see here. Also my favorite as a child. Might go to Canton for this one. It's a shame he really does not share a passion for the game as we all do. His interviews on Redskins Nation would not help his cause with the media. The last one for a long time when he gets in unless Brian Mitchell gets his due. HTTR
