Should have just kept up the pressure and tried to score the TD. Idiotic. You set up a FG when you have a 20-30 yard FG not 45. Both going for it and kicking are statistically positive moves as they increase the chance of winning. However, if the kicker misses the FG, its not the coaches fault.
