Tastes Like Chicken
TV: crime drams (CSI eg), Numb3rs; 24; Lost. Could be worse. LOST! What are we gonna do when it ends though?
ixcuincle
Although the 2000's had its share of good drama the decade is best remembered for reality TV shows which won't go away. How many Survivors have there been? 20?
ArmchairRedskin
I thought the Vietnam War was the longest war in US history. Technically speaking, we were never at war. It was a conflict.
ZoEd
I personally can't complain. Divorced the practice wife after 10 years of hell which made the 90's a freaking nightmare. Remarried a wonderful woman who loves me for who I am and accepts my flaws. I've been blessed with three beautiful children. There isn't a day that goes by where they don't make me laugh. No greater gift than that of a child and the blessings they bring. Made E6, E7 and became a First Sergeant. I deployed three times in support of my country during a time of war. Don't know how much this means? Ask those that served during the cold war how much it sucked sitting around doing nothing for twenty years. Killed the biggest buck of my life with a bow! Really nice 8pt with a 21 inch spread and 14 inch G2's. The last ten years have been pretty freaking awesome for me. I was raised to count my blessings and God has been good to me. Ellis
Minus the disappointments, this decade has rocked for me. -Recorded and released a rock album. -Performed at RFK Stadium at HFStival. -Performed at the Knitting Factory in Manhattan. -bought a house. -started a retirement fund that is doing extremely well. -became a Freemason thru my grandfathers Masonic Lodge. -visited Maine. (had always been on my bucket list) -played bass for my musical idol Peter DiStefano ( guitarist of Porno For Pyros who does solo work now.) -ran my own website for awhile. yeah, things are pretty good. Sticksboi05
Cell phones got better. Yeah and now everyone is obsessed with those stupid things and texting has taken place of actual conversation.
Sticksboi05
One thing I will say, the pre Youtube/Myspace/Facebook era pf the decade...so up to about 2004 was alot better in terms of pop culture than the last five years. In fact, 2000 was a great year. 2001, we left the 90's for good with 9/11 but we moved on. But I'm excited to move on from this decade in some ways. The nostalgia cycle means my childhood decade, the 90's, is now next to be obsessed over so bring on the 90's nostalgia.
Commander PK
But I'm excited to move on from this decade in some ways. The nostalgia cycle means my childhood decade, the 90's, is now next to be obsessed over so bring on the 90's nostalgia. Hopefully nobody decides to bring back flannel shirts, and Ace of Base songs. Aside from 90-94, the 90's can stay there.
Commander PK
The best part of the last decade for me was the resurgence in Classic Metal/Rock.

You try standing up to a moose and we'll talk. No joke, that thing could've killed me in a heartbeat.
China
Technically speaking, we were never at war. It was a conflict. I don't think we ever formally "declared war" against Iraq either. It is approved under a resolution which authorizes the use of military force, but is not a formally declared "War."
ZoEd
Any man who includes an 8 point buck among his top 5 moments of the decade is a-ok in my book. Up to that point I'd walked at least a couple hundred miles, climed more hills than a goat, spent hours up hours freezing my ass, fingers, toes, noes, ears and every other party of my body damn near off than I'd like to count. He's the biggest kill so far so it was a culmination of almost 17 years of almosts, shoulda-coulda's, misses and average deer. I can't wait till the taxidermist gets him done. Speaking of taxidermist; I bagged him in 04 and when I got stationed in Vegas the next year I hadn't gotten a chance to get him done so he spent the next 3 years in the freezer at my Moms. Finally as sick as it made me to say it I told her to have my cousin cut the antlers off for me. Instead, my mom took it to the taxidermist for me because she knew how bad I wanted him mounted. The cape was shot but the guy said he can re-cape it. We'll see how good it turns out.
frankbones
I don't think the people saying tv sucked in the last decade are watching the right shows. Maybe if you don't have cable. Cable networks like FX and AMC are able to push the creative limit in ways you just couldn't do 15-20 years ago. HBO and Showtime are putting more money into producing because they are making huge money off of dvd sales/rentals. Just of the top of my head I can think of a ton of great programming from the last 10 years. Network Lost 24 Arrested Development The Office Modern Family 30 Rock Scrubs How I Met Your Mother West Wing Cable The Soprano's The Wire Sons of Anarchy Rescue Me The Shield It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Mad Men Rome The Tudors Dexter Weeds Californication Curb your enthusiasm Band of Brothers Deadwood Battlestar Galactica Breaking Bad
Ellis
Nice. Not sure if I caught you all. I was hoping it was Jepetto since you're from Annapolis. That was the greatest band of all time. I love those guys. We did a few shows with them. Among other bands, we were all essentially sharing the same scene.
