I just saw on rotoworld that the NY Jets have waived RB Marcus Mason, if we have a chance to pick him up, do you think we should bring him back to camp? Seems he was a pretty good workhorse for us in the preseason.

(Edit: Okay just realized I put release instead of "waive" in the subject line, mod's if that's a problem feel free to correct.)

I don't think Mason is smart enough to play in the NFL... We all heard numerous reports of him missing assignments last preseason. If he was any good why has he been bouncing around from practice squad to practice squad? I dont think he can learn and memorize an NFL playbook...

Dej vu all over again.

Stop the mancrush on a marginal talent, please!

Edit: Rotoworld says it best.

Jets waived RB Marcus Mason.

Mason always looks good against third-stringers in preseason, but lacks the speed and moves to be more than a fourth tailback option/special teamer.

I didn't say we guarantee him a roster spot, bring him to camp and let him try to beat out aldridge or Cartwright. I doubt we cut Betts or Portis so.
Cartwright at least is a solid kick returner, proven at the NFL level.

Mason never did anything. He's just another Anthony Mix or Mike Espy.

Impossible to know until he is put into a real game here.

It is the same with the Colt bashers.
