The Lets Trade Jason Campbell Anyways Thread

I agree with the OP. why else would we even attempt to trade Candle for Cutler. The FO knows he can't get the job done and is not a franchise QB. He doesn't have the tangibles to be a great QB like the others mentioned above. Yes he can be Mediocre and we've all seen that. How many years are we gonna keep making excuses for this guy. I'm tired of hearing the same garbage every offseason about how good he is going to be. I know its not all his fault but damn it I've seen enough of his sitting in the pocket and not being able to read the defenses or lack of vision finding an open receiver only to throw 3 yard dump offs. Your going to see the same crap again this year.

A lot of Skins fans will be upset we lost out on Cutler. I do not want a rookie quarterback. Most of us do not want to wait a few years for a rookie to develop. Look around the league and the good teams have good quarterbacks and the teams that do not make the playoffs have the weaker quarterbacks. I want to make the playoffs. We could have had Drew Brees before New Orleans grabbed him.

This could be one of the stupidest threads I've seen. Why trade your QB NOW unless forced by circumstance (like Cutler)? What realistically do you think we'd get? Seriously anyone who thinks Brennan is ready is beyond clueless. To bring in another QB now would be equally as stupid unless it's a franchise QB. There's nothing out there better than we have.

Some of you guys really need to get a clue.

Or we sit on JC and watch his stock fall all year and we are in the same position except we cant liquidate our QB for any decent value.

If it is by JCs choice or the FOs choice, he is gone next year. Who's choice it is depends on how well he does. Based on the events of the last 24-48 hours, I'm thinking it's best to get something of value for him now. But then again, I'm thinking more long-term. That isn't the FO MO.

my scenario as a disinfranchised 'Skins fan:

1) we do as everyone thinks because we don't have the Johnnies in the knickers to keep doing what we want & so we cave in & draft Michael Oher at RT.

2) we get nobody of any significance besides shocking some people & drafting a long-snap specialist in the 5th round

3) we score a league record low 12 Offensive TD's all season, but our defense allows only 6. unfortunately, due to the piss-poor performance of our 5th rd draft selection (the much heralded long-snapper)...paired with our seemingly inept ability to find any sort of PK, we also set a record in missed FGA's...most of which are never taken due to shoddy snaps & false-start penalties.

4) after boo-birds & much ill-contempt is spewed JC goes down in week 8 to injury, the next play, Todd Collins is taken out by "the Brady Rule"...whoopdy-doo a 15 yard penalty. much to the favor of ES posters & many curious observers we enter the Colt-Brennan era.

5) we should've prayed harder that JC at least stayed healthy as...

6) we, the Redskins faithful, rejoice(?) on week 17 as we avoid becoming just the 2nd team in NFL history to go 0-16 after defeating a team resting its' entire starting roster after clinching their spot in the playoffs. 1-15 folks...YAY!!! apparently that Brennan kid didn't do so good.

7) draft comes around...after much speculation, the Snyderrato stands pat & decides not to trade the #1 overall pick for either McNabb or Manning the elder in order to select

TIM TEBOW!!! ... .. .

<<rinse, repeat>>

this is the thought process running through about 75% of the ES posters at this moment.

the rest are like me...let's wait & see what the future holds...until then

HAIL!

Scenerio 5- the skins are below .500

result 5- Zorn gets fired. A new coach comes in, the team starts all over (again) The front office gives up way too many draft picks for an over-rated (fill in the blank) who happens to be the one player who will get the skins to the superbowl.

How can the Skins be one player away for 10 years straight? Maybe it is time to build a team

THERE ARE TOO MANY THREADS ABOUT Jay Cutler and Jason Campbell and this QB trade stuff.

This is rediculous and makes it difficult to post an intelligent thought because I don't know which one to respond too, so I guess I'll copy this and post it in all of them!

Nail on head. Everyone is too emotionally tied to the players on our team. For what? It's time we win something

That guy said we need to build our own team. How the hell do you build your team when we were gonna trade away all of our draft picks?

Alright so I am sure many of you, like myself, feel like they have been punched in the gut over the whole fiasco of the last day. I sorely wanted Cutler on this team because I know that he would be a huge improvement to what we have. What we currently have is mediocrity and it pains me to see so many of my fellow fans who have accepted mediocre performances from our offense year in and year out. Jason is a great guy bless his heart, but amiability does not make a great quarterback. I feel like many of us seem to have forgotten the torture that JC put us through last season. His slow release, constant check downs, inability to make decisions quickly. At the beginning of last season I gave him a chance and he showed me absolutely nothing to believe that he will be anything more than a backup game manager. That is not what we need, we need to score more than one touchdown a game if we are ever going to make the playoffs let alone have a legitimate chance at the Superbowl. I want this guy out of town.

Sign me up...

I can't stand the thought of knowing he will get another season to waste when we all know the results will be same. We should try to trade him for a late 3rd and move on.

I think the F.O will attempt to pull the trigger on a deal that sends JC17 packing. If they were as serious as they were about landing Cutler.I don't see how NOW they'll be satisfied with JC17. He is medicore. The freaking Broncos chose Kyle Orton over JC17 GET REAL!!!

Trade him.

Use whatever pick you get to build depth on this team. Then one of three different scenarios will unfold.

Scenario 1: Redskins and Colt Brennan suck.

Result 1: High draft pick in a QB-heavy class.

Scenario 2: Redskins are good and Colt Brennan sucks.

Result 2: We have a good team.

Scenario 3: Redskins suck and Colt Brennan is good.

Result 3: We have a good quarterback.

Scenario 4: Redskins are good and Colt Brennan is good.

Result 4: We're set.

Win/Win/Win/Win

Couldn't agree more. McCoy's gonna be a stud in the NFL.

Whatever guys, you are all just speculating. He is not one of the worst QB's in the league. he's right in the middle. I could tell you 20 that he is much better than. he will step up this year and all you haters will be behind him at the end of it calling for an extension for 10 years.

Do it. I'll make it easier for you. Give me 12 QBs that JC is better than. I don't think you can. Obviously can't name one worse in our division, which is what really matters.

haithman is right........what does the wind do? i'll give you a hint....something Campbell does at the QB position.....:wish:

You can blame every bit of it on Gibbs...he threw away picks on Brunell...ran Ramsey out of town...threw more picks away on Campbell...where does that leave the skins... avg. football team.
