Hooper
Didn't see this posted. Apologize if it already has been. http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2008/dec/31/redskins-cerrato-not-mr-popularity/ ASHBURN, Va. (AP) — A good way to get a Washington Redskins player to clam up is to ask about Vinny Cerrato. Fullback Mike Sellers put his hands up and kept walking. Tackle Chris Samuels, who has been with the team for nine seasons, politely shook his hand and said he didn't have much to say. Several other veterans had similar reactions when asked about the person atop the Redskins' front office. And this was in late October — when the Redskins were 6-2 and compliments for anyone and everyone were a dime a dozen on a team seemingly assured of a playoff berth. There were some veterans who did have plenty to say about the team's executive vice president of football operations, but they would not do so publicly because it's never a good idea to criticize the boss on the record. Former Redskins, however, can speak more freely. "When his name comes up, usually it's not followed by compliments," said Brendan Noble, a retired defensive lineman who played in Washington from 2003-05. "In talking to players who have been around the league and just in general — fans — it's not just the players. People don't have a good image of him." Hunter_R
I was wondering when that article would make its way here. Seriously, the guy must have pictures of Snyder in a french maid outfit or something.
Redskins:Victory_or_Death
You have to be an overrated, overpaid primadonna player in order to appreciate the genius that is 'The Cerrato'.
paloffs
Brandon Noble played with us??? I thought he just collected pay checks.
Thirtyfive2seven
who cares if Brandon Noble played a down or not. Current players wouldn't even go on the record and say a word about Vinny. Figures.

ArsheimSkins
You have to be an overrated, overpaid primadonna player in order to appreciate the genius that is 'The Cerrato'. Did you see ESPN's close-up on Countdown today? It was on Sparano and at one point during training camp he yells "strap up your helmets and hustle you prima donnas!" I immediately thought about how pathetic our situation is and that our guys give us their all, I'd rather have them give their all and not be pansies about it - Portis is ALWAYS in the training room. Look at the Dolphins and they say their scared to get hurt because they are not allowed to get hurt. We gotta change the atmosphere of this team. If we still had Gibbs, we're golden. But Zorn needs to lose any semblance of the Gibbsian Era and make it his own. Create the Redskins in his image With tthat said **** CERRATO!!! Vinny is Danny's best and, probably, only friend. Danny wanted them to live together (true story.) Danny is not going to fire his bossom buddy. addicted
Vinny can't draft, trade, or build a team. He is terrible and no one should be a fan of his.

bulldog
The Redskins front office situation has all the hallmarks of a tug of war contest. A tug of war contest between Snyder and his ego. A realistic evaluation would tell him that Vinny Cerrato is not an NFL GM and that the Redskins don't have enough scouts vis a vis other teams, a point brought up by Chris Mortenson last year. For the better part of 10 years Snyder has refused to hire a GM, preferring to hire coaches and giving them a personnel role but retaining part of it for himself. The teams like the Redskins and Dallas that have owners in the War Room during the April draft are not the teams winning the Super Bowl in February. Eventually, Snyder will look in the mirror, hear the heckles from around the NFL about the mediocrity here, and make the necessary changes to get the last laugh. As for now, I am looking at the clock as it is going tick-tock.
alwaysaskin
Unfortunately I don't see Vinny getting fired even though he richly deserves it, honestly he ought to be tarred, feathered and ridden out of town on a rail after the Jason taylor and Erasmus James debacles. I still keep hoping that the fire vinny website will be up and running. One more thing FIRE VINNY!
wildbill1952
He destroyed both the 49ers and Redskins franchises. He never drafted an OL in the first or second round during his time with them or us (Samuels was not his choice.) He picks players we don't need. He passes on players we desperately need. He trades top draft choices for people at the very tale end of their careers and gives up other draft choices for people who do nothing at all. Worse he trades draft picks and top dollar for people that shouldn't have been on the practice squad. (Archuleta, Lloyd) That's not bad press. It's just stupidity. After today, add "The players think he's a dork." It's not a matter of press. The players interact with him during their contracts and when they were drafted. But they also know what they need on the team and how Vinny fails to provide it, year after year. I would trade this year's draft picks, all of them, if he'd end up with a 10 year contract with the Cowgirls. We could go 16-0 and Vinny would still be an idiot. Why Snyder refuses to see that is beyond every Redskin's fans knowledge. Couldn;t you promote him to President of Six Flags or something? Then he could recruit the guys who dress up in goofy costumes. It won't matter if he drafts linemen there.
