THEREALTOR1
Looks like a couple chances of snow in the next week. This Sat. night then again with the next storm system Tues.-Thurs. That one may start as snow, change to rain, then end as snow. Beyond that it looks like the next couple of weeks will be very wintery (at least in temps.) I thought Ji canceled winter? Toe Jam
You said remember December 5th. What's happening tomorrow? I was off by one day. Given when I made that post, I'd say that's an accomplishment. Remember remember the 6th of December.
Sticksboi05
Two storms are coming next week both of which could certainly bring wintry weather to our PA and NY brethren and the second could become a coastal Nor'Easter and that's when it gets interesting. Tuesday-Friday next week looks interesting.

Toe Jam
My concern is that we get the classic low riding up the coast but the cold air goes missing. Which doesn't make sense as to why that would happen with the airmass being so cold lately.

Sticksboi05
Have your rulers on hand for next week.Might need more than one... LOL, let's not go that far. It ain't gonna be '96 all over again. This is still a week out and it's not going to bring totals that large down here even likely under the top circumstances.
Sticksboi05
Ok, we need to seriously start talking about a possible coastal storm within 5-6 days. Any of our members along the eastern seaboard need to stay tuned. Of course plenty could change but as of today's 12Z GFS run here's what we have. Starts off as light snow/mix Here, we can see heavy snow breaking out across Virginia even down to Richmond and southern Maryland as the storm picks up strength and we have a high in Canada pulling cold air into the storm. The temps there would be in the upper 20's to around 30 even in the coastal plain.. Moderate snows continue in the DC area and up the coast and eventually the storm pulls northward. Storm then drills New England... Again, we have still a few days before this LIKELY storm is hits and significant details like track will have to be ironed out but it is almost certain that some type of storm will move up the coast in a few days and those of us in the northeast have at least a decent shot at wintry precipitation. Snow lovers and non-panzies stay tuned!

skinfan2k
We should start the "Guess how much Snowfall the DC area will get" Thread?
Sticksboi05
As of the lastest runs even we in the DC area would get 6-10 inches with pockets of 12 inches. Stay tuned because things WILL CHANGE. It might even disappear from the models. Who knows....

Sticksboi05
Ok, final update for today... the storm POTENTIAL if it indeed takes the proper track just off the coast and in time for the arctic front to arrive allowing for cold enough temps (which as of the latest runs has a higher chance of happening than not), those of us along the I-95 corridor have the potential for 3-6 inches with pockets of 4-8 but stay tuned as anything can happen between now and Thursday.
