StillUnknown
The undercard for tonight's event isn't that bad: J'Leon Love vs. Gabriel Rosado: Love is on Mayweather promotions, they see something in him that I don't. He has decent skills, but he's missing something I can't quite put my finger on. This is a good fight to test his development. Rosado is not a world beater, but he's a perfect gatekeeper. I think Rosado wins this fight late. Leo Santa Cruz vs. Alexander Munoz: Santa Cruz is one of the best young fighters to watch in boxing. He throws a ton of punches every fight, and defense is leaky enough to make for a great fight no matter who he's in with. Abner Mares vs. Daniel Ponce de Leon: Mares is usually entertaining when he isn't fighting dirty. Ponce has some good pop, but outside of the flash knockout, I'm not seeing how he wins. Should be a good fight in terms of action as long as Mares keeps it clean. Edited May 4, 2013 by StillUnknown
DM72
Very good undercard. I'm looking foward to all these fights. EDIT: The pre PPV fights will be on Showtime at 7:00 pm and I really like this, the post fight press conference will be on CBS Sports. JMURedskins
Anyone know the bars that will be holding the fight in Baltimore city or around the area?
StillUnknown
Had no idea, but Wlad Klitschko is about to fight some guy named Francesco Pianeta on EPIX scraping the very bottom of that HW pool Edited May 4, 2013 by StillUnknown
Hooper
More than a few boxing writers/experts are saying this fight is going to be better than tougher think. Guerrero is a decent fighter AND in his prime. Floyd has managed to avoid that combo for a long time. Well, with the exception of Ortiz. I predict this fight will at least be better than that circus. Chachie
That's the tired old argument people like to use. I guess as long as people believe he would win, why actually fight? If Mayweather would have had an easy time with Pacquiao. If it would have been so easy, why didn't Mayweather move heaven and earth to make the fight happen? Instead, he started negotiatiins with his BS Olympic style drug testing demand. Now it seems like he want to fight anybody not named Alverez. I agree with that, Mayweather is smarter than Pacquiao. Pacquiao was beyond dumb to take another fight with JMM. But Mayweather deserves to be criticized for avoiding fights something Pacquiao doesn't do. I totally agree that Mayweather ducked Pac. I just think if he'd sacked up and fought him he'd have beaten him soundly.
ksun247
Floyd by late TKO 10 or 11. Ring rust early then Floyd takes over. Ponce De Leon by KO in 8. Mares outboxes him for 1st half of fight and then gets caught with a bomb in 7 or 8 and doesn't recover. Santa Cruz by UD. Good young boxer shines tonight. Love by SD. His last fight wasn't good. Stepping up in competition, so we'll see.
Chachie
This is the first boxing PPV I've considered ordering in a looooong time. The only thing holding me back is the secure assumption that Mayweather will finish him. I just can't pull the trigger. StillUnknown
This Love/Rosado fight has been better than I thought it would be. Love showing his deficiencies, but also showing a good amount of heart that I didn't think he had. I scored it for Rosado 96-93 Edited May 5, 2013 by StillUnknown
ksun247
I thought Rosado won that one. At worst, call it a draw.
StillUnknown
I don't have a problem with 95-94 for Love, there were some really close rounds minus when he got dropped. 97-92 for Love is not possible.
ksun247
97-92 for Love is not possible. That judge was watching a different fight. No way it should have been that much of a difference.
StillUnknown
Santa Cruz is a star in the making. He'll be a fixture on showtime and future ppv cards, guaranteed action every time he fights.
ksun247
Leo looked good in this match. He has to work on his defense, but yes, Santa Cruz is a legit star in the making. Good stoppage.

Kosher Ham
Getting up at 5. This part of boxing always annoys me. StillUnknown
Mares brought a little pop with him to 126, dropped Ponce with a clean left hook at the end of round 2. ---------- Post added May-4th-2013 at 11:03 PM ---------- I usually rag on boxing ppv undercards, but this was a strong effort on paper, and the in ring action is surpassing expectations. ---------- Post added May-4th-2013 at 11:29 PM ---------- That stoppage was a little early for me, Ponce De Leon was probably on his way out anyway, but I think the ref should have let it go a few more seconds. StillUnknown
He was still swinging, bad stoppage. It was academic, but wait until the fighter is defenseless. Mares was well on his way to victory though, excellent fight from him tonight ---------- Post added May-4th-2013 at 11:49 PM ---------- Gotta say, I have preferred Showtime's announcing team to HBO's thus far. Can't stand Malignaggi as a fighter, but he's a damn good analyst. ---------- Post added May-5th-2013 at 12:03 AM ---------- Mayweather looks a little slower than usual, still much faster than Guerrero. Floyd didn't really move that much, seems to be following the trend of his last fight of standing and trading a little more. ---------- Post added May-5th-2013 at 12:06 AM ---------- I got it 1-1, after 2. CRobi21
This is the first boxing match I've seen in years, and I forgot how quick boxer's hands are. I know these guys are in the lighter weight class, but still. Damn.
StillUnknown
Guerrero trying to make it rough fight, but he's not landing much clean. Floyd's counters stand out as the clean shots of the rounds. Mayweather's timing is getting better as the fight goes on. 2-1 Mayweather
