lavar1156
from ESPN "The Redskins likely will have a new kicker in 2007. Though Shaun Suisham missed only two kicks in 11 attempts, team sources think they can do better. John Hall will not be brought back."
skinfan2k
like always.. trying to improve a situation when he have not with a big name capable.. i think we need to get a kicker but to compete with suisham
[[ghost]]
I like suisham. He should at least be here during camp, to kick whoever's ass we bring in.
KingGibbs
Great! A Redskins tradition continues, instability at the kicking position. Why do I have a feeling Vanderjagt has a seat waiting for him on Redskins One?

Brandon Lloyd Christmas
saw that earlier this morning. here is another tidbits from that post that concerns us as well: • Though he wasn't happy about it, we hear the reason the Bills didn't offer to extend MLB London Fletcher's contract beyond this season is that they want to get bigger and younger in the middle. Also, we hear the Bills want a middle 'backer who makes more tackles at, or near, the line of scrimmage than the undersized Fletcher did.
TheLongshot
Why do I have a feeling Vanderjagt has a seat waiting for him on Redskins One? Nah, I don't think so. I think it just means that we are going to have a few guys in camp competing for the position. Jason
Chump Bailey
The kicking game was a problem but I thought Shaun auditioned for and won the starting job pretty convincingly. It should be the least of our worries.

I was hoping we would have selected him and Will Blackmon for DB depth this past draft.

Brandon Lloyd Christmas
now im up in the air about fletcher. do we have him for 2 seasons to kinda fill the void while we groom a young middle LB with our 5th pick?? or do we find a young MLB in free agency? im not even sure there is one. dreamshatterer
The only thing I believe Suisham could do better is his depth on kickoffs. Other than that, his FG skills are fine.
KDawg
Suisham, contrary to popular belief, isn't that great a kicker. That said, I think he proved himself well enough to at least get a shot in camp. And also, with THAT said, I prefer Suisham over Vandershank any day of the week. Grimm
I hope Suisham can kick well in camp and win the job, I would love to see him be a steady kicker for years to come, instead of 3 different guys every year.

I guess the are shooting for someone in the mold of Greg Ellis only younger. I have to admit that he did make a huge difference playing in that OLB position for them before he was injured. robotfire
You know, sometimes they (the staff) see things that we don't see. I thought Novak was great, but the staff let him go. Then when they brought him back, he kept missing.
Gallntfox
Suisham was 8 of 9 for us on FG's with the only miss coming on a 50+ yarder in his first attempt. So he made 8 in a row. I am certain that our front office will find a way to go ahead and screw that up too.

Yes and they were spot on in letting go of Peirce, Smoot, Lavar, Clark etc. and signing the likes of Archuletta because our defense hasn't missed a beat since they have been gone.

RedskinzOwnU
Wow. How dumb is this team? I've wanted Hall gone for 2 years now - so at least they got that right. What more could you want from Suisham?? There's no one better out there, unless we draft someone.

Clark was a mistake and Pierce has been solid...but now everyone wants a big, strong MLB so he's not exactly what people are clamoring for either. After all, just like Marshall, he was a converted OLB too. :2cents:
