If you had to pick a Fight camp of the year would you pick Caesar Gracie's Camp?

Melendez, & both Diaz brothers had a pretty good 2011.

It would be hard not to pick them. The other obvious choices are Greg Jackson with Bones, but he also has so many guys, and guys who have lost big this year, that I don't think Jones on his own gets the team title for them. Another group is Blackhouse with Anderson, Aldo, JDS, Machida and the Nog's. I think I give the edge to the team that now has 3 UFC belts under it's roof in Blackhouse, but I would be willing to listen to a compelling argument for another team if someone has one.

I believe black house is more of a management group then an actual gym.

http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2012/1/6/2688239/cyborg-santos-steroids-positive-test-strikeforce

A very major development in the world of women's mixed martial arts as the suspicions of many appear to have been confirmed. The state of California has released a press release stating that Cristiane Santos, better known as "Cyborg" has tested positive for steroids.

From the release:

The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) has suspended the license of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Cristiane Justino Santos, better known in MMA circles as Cris Cyborg, and has fined her $2,500 as the result of a positive test for a banned substance.

Santos' December 16, 2011 drug test came back positive for stanozolol metabolites. CSAC learned of the test results December 23, 2011 and suspended Santos's license, with the suspension applied retroactively to December 16, 2011. In accordance with Rule 368, the result of her last fight between Hiroko Yamanaka will be changed to a "No Decision".

We'll have much more on this in the coming hours and days but these are the facts as California tells it. The full release is after the jump.

And in other breaking news, water was recently discovered to be wet.

Someone needs to add a Herb "Late" Dean tag to the thread.

I'll put Herb "Smokin" Dean. Didn't see the fights last night but poor Jardine might need to retire if he doesn't want brain damage. Guy gets put in another warp zone way too much. Saw a picture of him at the weigh ins and his head looked like a giant jack-o-latern on a skinny body. I think most of it is scar tissue. He's got pretty heavy hands, good leg kicks, supposedly good jiu jitsu, but it ends there when you're talking MMA attributes at the professional level. He's just naturally uncoordinated, and even Greg Jackson can't teach him much technique. From the weird ass stance and choppy footwork, to his open defense and paper mache chin...it's just a mess. How did this guy get by? How did Chuck miss his chin? I feel sorry for Jardine, he seems like such a nice guy, but he's a KO or two away from being in a tail spin like Ken Shamrock and Jens Pulver have been.

I agree, I think Jardine should call it quits and start helping Greg Jackson coach or something. He's been brutally knocked out too many times to have not started causing damage, I'd rather see him play it safe than sorry. Look at Chuck, if you've seen any of his recent interviews his speech is slurry and he seems a little out of it and it's been a while since he's been in the cage, kind of sad really.
