LOVELAND, Colo. -- Authorities in Colorado are investigating the death of a man who was apparently pulled into a large commercial wood chipper while trimming trees.

The tree service employee and a co-worker had been cutting branches at a home in Loveland Wednesday.

The victim's partner saw what happened from the hydraulic bucket where he was cutting branches. He got down and ran to the house where they were working to ask for help. The woman inside called 911 for help, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Chief Luke Hecker said the victim was experienced at his work. They're classifying the death as an industrial accident.

Officers with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Loveland Police Department are investigating. OSHA is looking into whether the machine's safety equipment was working properly.

Wood chippers are used to chop up large tree limbs and turn them into mulch.

The victim has not been identified.

The accident occurred at about 1:30 p.m., when some neighbors were outside to witness the grisly scene.

Man, that is horrible. I rank that up there with being turned into road pizza under an army tank feet first. Hopefully the dude went head first so it ended quickly.

Remember that Jackie Chan movie "Rumble in the Bronx"? They threw the guy in the chipper...I'm gonna go throw up now.:(

Why did the guy have to climb down from the bucket and run to get someone to call 911, if some other neighbors seen it. we may have trouble with the voting machines in Florida, but 911 even we can do!
