  2. Calling a deep pass on 3rd and 1 is a decent play call if - 1.) You don't try it every freaking time; AND 2.) Your QB and offensive line are unlikely to give up a sack; AND 3.) Your offensive line can push the defense back a yard on 4th and 1 if needed; AND 4.) You don't try 4th and 1 from the shotgun. When you don't have any of the four, much less all four, you play-call to get the first down on 3rd and 1.
  3. Since birds were probably around for all 30 years, it might have been something else. Snakehead, maybe?
  4. Well, league rules require the refs to find a holding call on any Washington run of 10+ yards, so there's that.
  5. Careful it don't hit ya on the way out!
  6. Yeah, I think he gets a lot of blame from some that he doesn't deserve. I believe the Sean Taylor "statue" was designed by Sean's daughter, and presented at the request of the family. If so, the media botched the reporting of it. Of course, I read that on the internet, so that story may not be accurate, either. I take it all with a grain of salt and try not to let this kind of stuff ruin my day. I don't really know much about what Wright has either succeeded or failed at in his time with the team, but I do think some folks are over the top in their "hate" of the guy. I think the new ownership will probably make its own assessment of Wright based on what they actually see, rather than internet gossip.
  7. They signed 2 OL and drafted 2 more, and they drafted a RB. They also addressed needs at DB and Edge. There are certainly questions that can be asked about who they took and didn't take, but I don't think addressing need is one of them. If anything, one might argue that they focused too much on need.
  8. It just seems odd to me that the NFL limits borrowing against the team to a specific dollar amount (1.1 billion) rather than a percentage of the purchase price. Heck when the rule was put in place, 1.1 billion was probably 33 to 50 percent of what teams were going for. The rule seems against the owners own interests by holding down sales prices.
  9. Well, it would be nice to have DBs that actually catch the ball when it's tipped or the QB makes a mistake. I'm tired of saying, "Oh man, that could have been a pick six." Then seeing the next play go for a first down for the opponent.
  10. I think that it is doubtful that Stromberg would have made it to us in the 4th, now that I've noticed that Scruggs went in the 2nd round.
