Can we please stop the Lamar talk. We just paid Payne 90M guaranteed. We have no money for Lamar. I swear some fans think football teams can spend whatever they want like baseball. Look at what's happening in Philly, they are losing players left and right to afford Hurts (i.e. Hurts is better than Lamar).
-
I don't understand the media love for Lamar. He's not winning a Superbowl on his own. He needs a supporting cast, which won't happen with him taking 1/4 of the teams total funding. He is not a Pat Mahomes. That should be your standard. We know who Lamar is, we don't know who Howell is. Howell is the best option for 2023.

The fact that Baltimore doesn't think they can win a Superbowl with Jackson speaks volumes. The Lions dealing Stafford is much different because he wanted out. We are better off giving Howell a chance. If Howell doesn't work, then let's draft another. Having a QB on a rookie contract is advantageous on its own.

Not close. We did not hurt our future to get Wentz, just last season. We owe Wentz nothing, and lost only one 3rd round this draft. We have Howell, a full draft board, and 35M to spend. Not worried one bit. The RG3 trade was the worse. The rams built a dominant team because of those draft picks. And we have sucked since.

New OC Thread (Welcome Aboard Eric Bieniemy!)
Daniel.redskins replied to samy316's topic in The Stadium
If there is anything EB knows, it's what a high powered offense looks like. The Chiefs offense is arguably the greatest offense of all time. It will be complicated, we don't have Pat Mahomes, but this is an absolute upgrade from Turner. -
Nah Nah Nah…Nah Nah Nah…Hey Hey Hey…GOODBYE CLOWNSHOES

Mark my word, Bezos will come in here acting like he knows everything about football. He will pick his head coach, his quarterback, and it will be Snyder 2.0. I want an owner who will chose the GM and back away. I definitely overreacted in my post yesterday, but we are finally getting rid of a control freak and now we might have another one. Business men do not know football. -

Bezos is going to ruin this ****ing team. It will be Snyder 2.0. Let the GM hire the coach and stay the **** out. -
Daron Payne or Jonathan Allen? You are the GM who do you keep?
Daniel.redskins replied to Redskinscub's topic in The Stadium
After watching the San Fran defense yesterday, we desperately need linebackers. Like really bad. We need to trade Payne. Yes, he's a great player but Allen is our long term DT. We also have two young guys with potential in Ridgeway and Mathis. Lack of a true MLB will hold this defense back from being legit. -
I disagree with a lot of the comments. The Giants are better than us. They are better in the trenches and obviously have a much better QB. But I wouldn't call Jones a top 10 QB, he's more around 10-15. This off-season is huge for the Giants. If they franchise tag Jones then they will be in a bad Kirk Cousins like situation. If they can sign Jones for 25M per year, they can build around him and will be competitive for the next decade. If Jones' agent goes for top 10 money, then the Giants will be in a bad Derek Carr like situation. To get back on topic, I think Howell has a higher upside than Jones. He has a stronger arm and is harder to tackle. We desperately need a line to help him though.

If we trade Payne for a draft pick and we draft another dt then I would feel fine about it. Payne clearly cares about the money and has no loyalty to Washington. Allen is the better player and our long term dt.

Because it's too much common sense for most people. I just can't believe there are talks of Carr or Brisset coming here. These players were released for a reason, they are not hidden gems and we will not win more than 7 games with them. Howell has potential to really be something . Start Howell and bring in another young QB to develop as the backup.

Sam's Club: The Legend of Samuel Howell Thread
Daniel.redskins replied to LetThePointsSoar's topic in The Stadium
Why would we not develop Howell this off-season as the starter? If he was a first round pick it wouldn't even be a question. I've seen everything I need. Accuracy, check. Mobility, check. Quick decisions, check. Quick release, check. Arm strength, triple check (that pass to Terry). -
I'd rather roll with Howell over Zach Wilson or Justin Fields. He played a better game today then Wilson or Fields ever have in the NFL. I'd also rather roll with Howell than another reject veteran like Carr or Mariota. Like others said, unless we bring in a top 10 QB (which won't happen), we should build the o-line and give Howell the keys.

Game Day Thread - Dallas at Washington ~ Sonny Days Rookie QB Plays

Even though that was an incomplete pass, we finally have a QB who knows to get rid of on all out blitzes. -

We finally have a QB who can read crossing routes!!!!! -
I just want to see Howell make quick decisions. He held the ball for too long in college and that is the main reason he slipped so far in the draft. He has everything else needed to be a franchise QB. If he makes quick decisions on Sunday then we build around him. This could be a big game for our franchise.

Nope! The QB situation is Ron's fault. He should have grown balls in 2020 and told Dan to **** off and draft Tua or Herbert. In 2021 he drafted no QBs and thought Fitzpatrick, who literally every other team has canned, could make the playoffs. I do support the Wentz trade because at least we took a shot. But after the first Giants tie he should have grown balls and let Howell play. It was obvious to everyone that we weren't making playoffs with Wentz or Heinicke. Also, he allowed the o-line to fall to **** which has a direct negative impact on the QB. Instead, we drafted small statue receivers who get manhandled. This is all Ron's fault. The only hope he has is to put all eggs in the Howell basket and pray for a miracle. Because if he doesn't win a playoff game next year he will never step foot on a football field again.

Most disappointing coach of the Snyder era
Daniel.redskins replied to hail2skins's topic in The Stadium
Ron. He came in here with 3 first rounders on the d-line, the best guard in football, and the #2 overall pick. After year 3 this team has no direction, a declining defense, and no QB. Yikes. -
Disagree. The Giants have a good o-line, good d-line, and above average QB play. They most definitely deserve playoffs. As much as I love McLaurin, how good has this team been with him? Losing record every year with him. We would be better off trading all our receivers for starting calibur o-line. You build a team starting with the QB and the lines, not weapons. Look at the Giants.
