Ron should have just let the computer AI pick his draft. I swear it would be much better than this. Should have been Kincaid or Harrison. I remember Kincaid threw a couple good blocks on Young in the Buffalo game.

Great post. He's ok, just not first round talent. It just goes back to Ron's inability to adjust to modern day football. It's an offense driven league. Obviously the d-line and MLB are extremely important, but everyone else on defense doesn't really move the needle forward.

Since I started watching football, Washington has always played to the level of competition. I believe it's because we haven't had a top 10 QB in decades. Until I see Howell become a top 10 QB (I really think he can), I'm predicting every game to be close. 24-23 us.

We almost beat and very, very, very good team. Can't really blame anyone for this loss. Eagles are a 14-3 team. Still don't understand the decision not to go for two. It's a long season, no need to get players hurt in OT. If you get a 50/50 play against the Eagles for a win, it's the obvious choice.

Agreed. The hardest part of building a team is finding a top 10 QB. If Howell keeps playing and learning like he has been this season, he will be a top 10 QB by the end of the year. From there, it's just filling in holes. Got to give some credit to Rivera for drafting Howell. It may be luck, but if you don't have a top 10 QB, you better draft one every year to find one.

OL and LB have been the biggest weaknesses for all of Rivera's tenure. I have zero confidence that he knows how to fix them.

I would love to have EB as our HC. He is a high energy guy that knows football. Our offense is turning a corner to being a top 10 unit.

I really like Howell and see potential in him. Problem is that if we don't make playoffs, Ron is gone. And the new coach will draft his QB in the first round. Ron's biggest mistake was day 1 when he agreed to develop his predecessor's QB. We have never been good at QB since.

Every play has open receivers. The problem is Howell only has 3 seconds max to check his primary receiver, then his secondary, then at last decide if he's checking down or scrambling. He physically can't do what a lot fans expect with our o-line. When I watch Mahomes or Allen, it looks like if their primary receiver isn't there then they are immediately scrambling to buy more time. Problem here is Howell doesn't have lanes to scramble. I don't like the idea telling a young QB to throw the ball away, Mahomes would never waste a play. ****, Howell doesn't even have time to throw the ball away.

This game will be a disaster and should not be used as a measuring stick. Playing two contenders back to back can be demoralizing for a rookie QB. If you need to take a Sunday off to be on good terms with the wife, this is the one. 34-10 team.

3 seconds isn't bad. One of my things now is counting seconds for good QBs. Allen and Mahomes feel about 3 seconds to me. Looking at pff stats isn't giving the full picture, because screens will lower the average. Problem is Howell isn't even getting 3 seconds. One more bad game for the o line, I expect changes. Bench Wylie for Lucas. Gates for Larson.

You must be one of those Hienicke fanboys I hear about? Haskins had awful games, especially his last game here that got him benched. Do you remember Wentz against Cleveland last year? Hienicke at Buffalo a couple years back was a disaster. If Alex Smith threw more than 5 yard screens he would be up there. Cousins had a 4 pick Monday night game against the Giants if I remember correctly.

I'm ok with losing to Buffalo. They are a contender and have been a contender the last 3 years. I am not concerned about Howell. Every rookie has had games like this. It happens. Can't take sacks to lose field goal range. Cannot, cannot, cannot. I am have though lost all faith in Ron's ability to build a team. Don't forget, the best players on this team are all from the Gruden era (McLaurin, Sweat, Payne, and Allen). Ron's drafts have been full of JAGs (Young, Gibson, Davis, Cosmic, Dotson, Mathis, Forbes, and Martin). Pathetic to have zero pro bowl players from 4 years of drafting.

You are 💯 correct. But, hopefully the new staff will take the time to build a line before bringing in skill players and a young QB. This team was built *** backwards and most us fans saw this coming years ago. (I still think Howell can be good).

I'm not worried. Allen had games this bad his rookie year, I'm sure that's exactly what he told Howell afterwards. Howell is basically a kid compared to Allen. Next week will be ugly too, but after let's see how the kid responds.

I would take their entire dLine over Young. He's just not an impact player. Sooner the fanboys realize, the better.
