No, it was the fact that this far this is an isolated situation that happened thirty years ago and thus far there is no backing information. Im not, I’m framing it as if it happened once. Rapists don’t generally rape just once, if her story is true I suspect others will follow, that’s happened to all the Hollywood rapists. No, they don’t. But, my point is that that same 17 year old when he is 50 shouldn’t have to necessary deal with what he did when he was 17. Im saying if that’s case, if multiple accusers step forward it moves from mistake to pattern, then no, can’t be forgiven for a way of life.

Yeah, sorry for not living up to what another mans expectation of what women should be like.... there’s a difference between condoning what someone did thirty years ago, and seeing that they should be forgiven. And, for most people, if it where a liberal judge we’d be having the same conversation but in reverse, because that’s how the world works.

If he lied about it, then yes, that would disqualify him. The accusations haven’t been proven beyond a what one person said, though. 17 year olds are tried as adults. That’s not my point. My point is people who do wrong but learn from it should be forgiven.

I agree that it shouldn’t disqualify him. If there were multiple women making claims it would be a lot different, but if he made a mistake once, when he was a child, and grew from it and did nothing but serve his country for over 30 years since then, it’s reasonable to forgive him.

I still go back to the point if this is true, and this is the only objectionable thing he has done in the past thirty years, can he not be forgiven for it? I’m fine with waiting till after the election to nominate/confirm a supreme court justice that will in office for life, but this seems likes a huge political game.
