  1. My group of friends (35-40 years old) that used to go to the games, roughly twenty of us, we had about 16 season tickets between us. There are two season tickets left in the group. Of the twenty, only two guys still go to the games at least once a year. So far three people have completely dropped the team and 16 have not gone to a game in over five years. I'm debating after this whether or not this team deserves my time, let alone my money. This was an absolute cluster **** and a big **** you to the fans.
  2. Someone on Reddit last night had the idea of replacing the O with a U. In command, go ahead and try it out, that feels more appropriate.
  3. If those pictures are accurate, those uniforms are atrocious. The name commanders is so bland that it makes white seem like a vibrant color. I'm hoping this is all some massive redirect, but I doubt this franchise has it in them to do anything that well thought out.
  4. Son is 6 and daughter is 11. Neither had any side effects or issues, not even a sore arm. I wish my side effects were that easy when I got mine.
  5. My sons elementary school was shut down for five days to a COVID outbreak. I work from home, and I can't imagine the strain this off and on shutdowns take on families that don't have the regular option of having a parent home. Good luck everyone, 2022 is shaping up to be a roller coaster of a school year.
  6. A friend mine from Frederick, many years ago did a race (5k or 10k) early in the morning on a Saturday. He was flying to Green Bay to see a game with some of our friend later that day. His wife dropped him off like five hours before his flight. He killed fiver hours at an airport bar. The rest of our buddies got there and told him to try to not act like he was totally blitzed, he was, and he couldn't. The gate agent denied him entry, everyone else got on the plane. He slept in the airport until he sobered up enough to buy a ticket to Milwaukee for the early the next day. Got to Milwaukee and paid a taxi driver to drive him to the gate of Lambo. He only missed the first quarter and convinced a security guard to put his luggage in a storage room.
  7. I am completely out of ****s to give for people that choose not to get vaccinated for any reason other than medical. At this point in the game if you choose not to and you go to the hospital you should be either triaged to the end of the line or just kicked to the curb. The inability of society to work together to mitigate and solve this one thing is just beyond sad. My coworker was working the NRCC and 90% of the procurements they did were for private ambulance services because the local ones were at capacity plus. These people are beyond help, let nature takes its course.
  8. My agency just pushed our return to office date back by a month to March 1. I'm not expecting to be back until April / May honestly.
  9. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences. This dude is an idiot if he didn’t think he would receive blowback from telling the president to go **** himself.
  10. I read somewhere recently that the majority of unvaccinated healthcare workers were nurses. Most doctors are fully vaccinated and the article was pointing out the delta between the two.
  11. Exactly. As the great philosopher Mike Tyson once said "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.".
  12. What I learned from 1/6 is that most people are into it if no one fights back. When Babbitt got shot the demeanor of that crowd went from hot to cold real quick. It's very easy to talk about this stuff in your echo chamber but I have a hard time really seeing people putting their life on the line for it. Hell, cut off this guys social security and Medicare and see what he thinks of overreaching government. I bet his tune changes real quick.
  13. If I'm the AD of a mid tier college and can somehow get him to come in for a few years to rehab his image, I would do it. The bottom line for most ADs is wins, revenue and recruits. For as crappy a person as Meyer is, he has always delivered that in college.
  14. The HOA can’t stop you from putting a charger in, but they don’t have to provide any support and can require additional insurance. One couple has a Tesla and has been working with the HOA for months trying to figure it out. The only thing I know they figured out is the resident has to carry an additional one million dollar policy in case the charger causes damage to other units or cars. Other than that nothing else had been decided.
  15. As a credit, for this year it wouldn't have offset our taxes in a meaningful way. The credit would have been only partially redeemed. I actively manage our withholding throughout the year to reduce our payment to the government. Using the tax credit needs to be built into our yearly plan. For us the biggest issue is at home charging, driving to charging stations wasn't tenable as a long term solution. We recently moved into a townhouse community built back in the early 80s, no garages and cars are parked in a general lot in front of the houses. The charging cable can't impede the sidewalk and at this time the HOA is not sure how that will work. The cost for install would be on the homeowner (as it should) but is the homeowner going to have to pay for the sidewalk to be torn up and run in a channel or is it going to have to be sky wired somehow. This is not a long term house, we'll be moving in three years once my daughter finishes middle school. The ROI math didn't work for us.
  16. I agree with you on this. The only problem I have with rebates is that the majority of people don't understand how they work. For us, if we did purchase an EV we would have needed to wait until next year to make the best of the rebates. We would need to realign our tax strategy to make the most use of them. We just bought a new car last month. We wanted to get an EV but when we really looked into our use, range and our specific charging circumstances it didn't work. We leased a car for three years and we'll revisit the EV market at that time.
  17. I forgot to include the link to the article MONEY: The Push for Electric Vehicles Could Affect How Much Your Next Car Costs EDMUNDS : Most Affordable EVs for 2022 Cheapest EV: Nissan Leaf / $28,375 / 149 mile range Cheapest 200 Mile EV: 2022 Chevy Bolt / $31,995 / 259 mile range From a cost / usage standpoint the lower priced EVs have very limited appeal.
  18. I 100% agree with this. The disconnect between services and funding services, a how that money is collected to provide the services is a major issue.
  19. I watched it, I enjoyed it. It's based on champions from the game League of Legends and does some of the back story of the characters. I don't know anything about the game but I though the animation was well done and the story was pretty engaging. It's not an all time great but it's better than a lot of the stuff that is out right now. I'd recommend it if you like anime and are looking for something different.
  20. One of the many issues with EV adoption is the initial purchase price. For a lot of people dropping 51k on a mid-size sedan is not doable, and the only way the tax incentive works if the person buying the car understands tax management to fully take advantage of it. Based on what I see, that's a very small portion of this country. The ability for the majority of people to actually benefit would need to be able to charge at home. While right to charge laws are in place it doesn't mean that it is doable for a large portion of people. If you live in an apartment complex, condo, row homes or townhomes without a garage running a charger to the car is damn near impossible. Beyond the above, the charging infrastructure is spotty at best. They have to recoup it somehow. Gas taxes pay for many things including road maintenance. A usage fee makes the most sense to pay for upkeep and expansion, hell I'd be happy if they took all of the taxes they collect from Musk and put them directly into the highway trust fund. The VA gas tax is 26.2 cents a gallon and the federal tax is 18.4 cents per gallon, you will have to offset that revenue loss somehow as people transition to EV. Th
  21. Maybe Elon is salty because he is actually having to pay taxes. Elon Musk May Well Have The Biggest Tax Bill This Year: Over $8 Billion It’s almost like he’s lashing out because he’s having to pay taxes for the first time.
