  1. What mandates are the arguing against now that mask one’s are lifted, and the vaccine ones are at employer discretion.
  2. If they aren't anti vaccine, but for choice. Wouldn't that mean that the employer has option on who to employ under what conditions, very similar to a....choice?
  3. Wife worked at the same school as the mother. The kids are separated across relatives, and states. I'm honestly not sure the kids want anything to do with them, at this point.
  4. I feel like throwing out a number that large and then not also making the note that this is for the "infinite horizon" is a pretty big omission. Since, you know, that number is through the end of time. Also, I'm not sure why you mention Medicare since the article was about social security. But, you are correct all social spending programs will show a deficit amount if you stretch the timeline out. --Edit-- I want to say this. I'm not a Musk "hater". I think he has done some amazing things with pushing EV tech to the forefront as well as his SpaceX program. But, to ignore some of the stuff he does and says is crazy. He's a person, I think, and that makes it okay for him to be bat **** crazy and a genius at the same time.
  5. GoSkinsGo, I'm super creative, as you can see.
  6. From what I've read about the Canadian convoy the issue is removing the trucks. Once the air breaks are activated you need a specific too/skill set to free them, then you need a specialized truck to tow. Along with that, a lot of the truckers brought their families including kids. I think, the US has a greater capability to remove the trucks and impound them if needed.
  7. I can't see the US being as coddling if it starts disrupting cities and the flow of trade. Hell, they park those things in DC and the residents may just set them on fire. Thank you, we have to embrace the great republic.
  8. You've seen the Canadian version, are you ready for the US version? DHS bulletin warns trucker convoy could disrupt Super Bowl Sunday More in the link, the idea is they end in DC sometime in March. I'm not sure the US government would be as gentle as the Canadian if they start to clog major cities arteries and disrupt trade.
  9. It's also NASA, not just other defense contractors. NASA outlines concerns about Starlink next-generation constellation in FCC letter To be fair NASA has concerns with a lot of the large constellation groups being proposed, and have sent similar letters.
  10. Before this year I was never onboard with the blow it up and start over. I'm in now, this is a catastrophic failure across the board. Trade Beal for whatever you can get, and unload as many pieces for future picks as you can. Commit to to it and ride it out like the 76ers did, or as close as you can.
  11. For your perspective. RFK would be less than 250 million in todays dollars.
  12. The Olympic hosting is a terrible waste of money. I saw an idea years ago of just having two cities be the designated winter / summer hosts. The infrastructure would be there, it would be used every two years and it would be easily upgraded.
  13. If you have a study that contradicts this please share. I would love to read it.
  14. No city should build a stadium for a sports team. Every study I have ever read shows it's a terrible use of tax payer money. The Economics of Sports Stadiums: Does public financing of sports stadiums create local economic growth, or just help billionaires improve their profit margin? (Berkley Economic Review)
  15. It’s been a long time since I’ve looked. But we used to always lease. The last private sector job used to be all trucks, the tax code at the time had an item related to GVW that was supposed to be for farmers. But, the way it was written allowed any business to piggyback on it. It allowed a wild amount of deductions, this may have been changed as it was six years ago.
  16. Nah, leave it as is. It's very communist sheik, as they said in the other thread, just name it the Gulag. Bam, I just saved DC millions.
  17. Is that big enough for a modern stadium though? SoFi is 3.1 million square feet, the entire complex was built on 298 acres.
  18. Likely not, but it's the idea that it is even up for discussion. If by some weird action it even came up for a vote the other major leagues would lose their collective ****. The amount of pressure that would be applied from other billionaires would be immense and have some huge ripple effects into the NFL. Tax exempt status is the golden goose for the major sports leagues, no other other league can be happy that it was even mentioned. --Edit-- I will say, I fully expect nothing to happen with this. I'm just hoping for some type of change at the top.
  19. The fact they are even broaching going after the tax exempt status may be enough to get something rolling. That is literally, the only thing owners really care about. It would be the most Snyder thing ever to screw up a team so bad that the NFL would lose that exemption. It's pure poetry.
  20. It has to be. DC I don't believe has the land available to build a modern stadium. VA is the only place that has land and the governor already said they want to work with them.
  21. Where in DC would he be able to build a modern NFL multi use complex? I'm having trouble trying to figure that out.
  22. Under no circumstance should any State / City subsidize a stadium. As a MD resident I would be absolutely furious if MD gave some type of subsidy or cost sharing to build any professional stadium.
  23. He's a former business consultant for McKinsey. This is who he is, he's a cheese sandwich on white bread. This entire rebrand has been the most textbook non offensive action ever taken. From his perspective it was perfect.
  24. There is no connection to the past 80 years. They are clinging to the colors and hoping that people make that connection. This screams focus tested as non offensive. It's generic, it's pandering to both military and love for the country. The hope is that people can't hate something that represents the military and the USA itself. This is the most consulting group end to a name change possible. This is Jason Wright, this is what he was hired to do. I ****ing hate Jason Wright.
