  1. Once upon a time I had a MySpace account for my guitar business, but it was maintained by a friend of mine. Same with FB.
  2. If my ES membership were a person, he'd be old enough to get a drink. Not doing Twitter EVER, nor FB. Bah humbug.
  3. I have YouTube premium just to avoid the ads. I probably watch at least 2 hrs a day, so the $12 is worth it. I don't give a crap about any of the additional features.
  4. Interim coaches almost never get hired when the season is over and I don't remember a time when one took a demotion back to coordinator when another coach was hired. Sooooo.... What would people think if Antonio Pierce was hired as DC here next year. Schotferbrains called him one of the smartest players he ever had, and in subsequent years Pierce played for Marv, Gregg W, and Spags, so he is likely to have learned leadership from Marv, and attacking strategies from GW and Spags. I hate the Raiduhs so I have no idea how good/bad their D is this year...just throwing it out there.
  5. Forbes will revert to horrendous, and Geno will have enough time to rise back to mediocrity. Howell will throw for over 400 yards, but Carroll will take advantage of our lousy LBs. 27-24 Seattle.
  6. Foles SB was under Doug Peterson, though I guess he looked good enough under Reid to dump McNabb. I never thought McNabb looked good, but he had the most underrated and dangerous RB in Westbrook. Wilson's decline surprised me for sure. Kyle Shanahan actually made Schaub look good for a year, and he was atrocious afterwards.
  7. Iran provides funds to Islamic Jihad and other factions within Hamas, but they are not calling the shots. Remember that Hamas are salafist Sunni Arabs and Iranians are Persian Shiites. Both consider the other to be heretical and racially inferior. The support is a marriage of convenience to weaken/distract Israel away from Iran's favorite allie Hezbollah. Iranian and Russian agents probably encouraged an attack, but Hamas is not a puppet of either. Iran is already in a proxy war with the Saudis in Yemen, and isn't about to do more than launch a few random rocket attacks at US or IDF bases. Its client states of Syria and Lebanon are nearly failed states with too many internal issues to get involved.
  8. You may have a point... I just figured trades usually get separate threads apart from FA. 😎
  9. He was the funniest part of Friends, and was funny in The Whole Nine Yards. If not for his demons, I think he would have been a successful movie star.
  10. Can we trade Forbes for Willie Jackson?
  11. So, any other Redskin coaches besides Rivera who lasted more than two years but never beat the Giants...not even once?
  12. I call b.s. - Scarlett would never cheat on me! Eagles 27-10
  13. Davis is certainly good, but we had a better player available at a position of great need.
  14. Today's game epitomizes what is wrong with our FO structure. While we have done reasonably well in later rounds, high round selections are hindered by coach's bias. GMs, at least the good ones, look for the best player available. Old coaches look for the guy who either most reminds them of their favorite player of their past, or for the most athletic - believing they can coach up anyone with great measurables. I can't believe a competent GM would have passed on Darrisaw for Jamin Davis. Davis is good, probably at least average value for where he was picked, but we passed on a top 5 franchise LT for just a good LB. Cosmi apparently had the 2nd highest measurables of any OL ever, but if I recall correctly, the top belonged to megabust Mandarich. Chase Young has higher measurables than the Bosas or TJ Watt, but he still isn't in their league. Ultimately, coaches overestimate their ability to instill the correct instincts. We passed on Herbert and Tua for another DE, but I have to believe a GM with a long-term outlook would have realized the salary cap would preclude us from keeping 4 first round DL, and at least one would never be re-signed. Personally, my gut is telling me both Sweat and Young will walk, but even if Young had been as good as advertised, would the difference between Young and Sweat be worth giving up a franchise QB? Wink Martindale has the Giants playing at a much higher level than us, despite nearly all our draft capital of the last several years having been spent on defense - look at how they shut down the Bills. If JDR were running the Giants defense, and Martindale ours, which squad would be better? Exactly.
  15. Nothing makes science more interesting than when it's explained by a beautiful woman. And regular viewers of ES know I follow this guy. I am also watching a bunch of foreign language channels. Aleph with Beth is better than any app for learning ancient Hebrew. There's also Alpha with Angela for Koine Greek. Podcast Italiano, French Mornings with Elisa, and Spanish after Hours... I try to watch at least one of each every day. And for a chuckle...
  16. I believe Israel offered it to them and they refused. Egypt has added protections to their border with Gaza to keep the Gazans from getting out. Egyptians hate the Palestinians. Imagine if El Salvador had a direct border with the US and the EU asked us to let whoever cross to avoid all the gang violence, or maybe make it the 51st state.
  17. Who the **** on the left is calling for resettling Palestinians in America??? Maybe a nutjob like Tlaib, or some idiot college people, but no one of any consequence as far as I know....just such ridiculous fear mongering. And what GOP candidate said he's hoping for another terrorist attack?
  18. Darrisaw fell to 17, iirc...and we passed on him to draft J Davis.
  19. If we're going to rehash the reign of Brucifer, Prince of Dimness, let me kindly remind you all that when he was hired, I equated it to the Niners making Nolan their head coach only because his father had a celebrated history there - and that Brucifer had an even worse draft record in Tampa then Vinny Bugeyes. People on this board were so elated (I suppose) to be rid of Sir Rot-o, that my thread was shredded by all the ESers. I am bullish on Howell. He definitely has the athleticism, accuracy and demeanor to be a franchise QB, but I think he needs a good mentor to encourage him to throw the ball away and develop a good mental timeclock. Some of it too is if the game slows down enough for him to see his checkdowns in time. Everyone this year from the FO to the coaches to the players are getting evaluated for decisions coming when the regime changes at the end of the year.
  20. If Young is on his last season here, Dotson turns out to be a mediocre WR, and Forbes doesn't turn his game around, then our FO needs to go out with Ron at the end of the season.
  21. Wink Martindale has turned the Giants defense into the powerhouse ours was supposed to be, and without all the massive draft capital. They remind me of the 2004 Redskins team, with an incredible defense hampered by a listless offense. Which is why facing our defense is just what they need to break their TD drought. 20-17 Commies.
  22. Showing my age here, but the defense reminds me of Lefty Drisell's UMD basketball teams, where he would recruit every superstar player he could land without a coherent plan for how they would fit together. The whole is far less than the sum of the parts. With all the assets we have used on defense at the expense of the OL, you would think they should be elite.
