Proof that GMs Matter

The Rams ended up with 8 additional picks from the RG3 trade, either directly or indirectly, and only two remain.  DL Michael Brockers and LB Alec Ogletree.

They also didn't have any winning seasons as a result of the trade.  That bad drafting is inline with the Browns.

You know what the Rams never had.  A franchise QB.  A QB masks the majority of problems on a football team.  We have 1 and we better not screw it up.  Even with a bottom 5 defense, this team could have easily won 11 games

Exactly like last year.

A franchise QB might be able to get you to .500. Just like a good defense or a good run game.

You need a good team to win 11 games, which the Rams obviously didnt have despite all their picks.

Damn, I wish we could have had all those picks to go with Cousins. We might actually be an 11 win team, instead of hovering around 8.

a good defense or good run in this age wont get u to .500.  a Franchise QB basically gets you 8-9 wins

So, a franchise QB on a bad team gets you 11 wins, but then only 8 wins?

Big difference between mediocre and perennial playoff team.

I think a franchise QB will get a good team to the SB, but it doesn't overcome a bad team, which we showed last year.

Last year? Are you kidding? Not even with the playoffs on the line could we beat a good "team". We won most of the ones we should and lost to good teams. We're a .500 team who even tied.

We didn't win 9 games. So, with Kirk, and nothing else, we will not win 9 games. And we do have other quality players.

Theres plenty of franchise QBs who don't go to the playoffs every year.

or maybe Cousins gets wrecked as our starter while we're building and we don't have a top QB either
