jRight
Everyone weigh in on this one. Who is the Better Running back right now Our Clinton Portis or San Diego's LaDainian Tomlinson. Then who will have a better season. We know that they both are in the top 5 but which one is the best overall back.
Kilmer17
If San Diego offered a straight up trade Portis for LT, we'd be morons not to take it. LT is the best back in the league. I think though Portis will have better numbers this year.
spjunkies
I would say LT because he's a little more durable.
Chachie
Tomlinson is amazing. Straight-up. Portis might become as good as LT very soon, though. Clinton will have plenty of carries and catches this year, so we shall see!
Skyward72
Thats a tough one. CP is more explosive, but LT has better receiving skills.
Henry
LT. No question.
ArmchairRedskin
LT is the bee's knees. He is the most complete back in the league. Poor guy has to make a living in SD.
RedskinsMarchingBand
LT hands down, he had a CRAPPY offensive line and he put up 100 receptions and over 1600 rushing yards. Did you know he was 3rd in the NFL in rushing yards and 4th in the NFL receptions that is great.
w33dh0l3
And if it is straight up, LT is cheaper than CP too.
jpgirth
LT And they say we are homers
TODD
CP is the #4 back in the league right now behind Tomlinson, Holmes, and Lewis. LT is just amazing, and if he had our line instead of SD's, he'd be in for 2000 easy.
Gamebreaker
Tomlinson without a doubt. I wouldn't even hesitate on which back was better. LT is the only reason why Marty still has a job right now.
Skeletor The Invincible
Yep LT. No doubt about that. We may look like homers but at least we understand simple dynamics.
Taylor Made
Cport and LT are equal runners. LT just blows away Cport by his receiving though. If Cport gets 1465 yards this year he will have as many yards as LT did in his first 3 years though; so it'll be interesting to see how many yards Portis puts up. The Full Monty
LT is better NOW. those beatings he'll take while the Chargers rebuild and those he's already taken will slow him down. Meanwhile, behind our line, assuming it Buges gets the most out of the Dirtbags, Portis can thrive for years.
bulldog
Tomlinson is better by a wisk now but is on an awful team. He will get the yardage and carries in 2004 under Marty but Portis will get the better per carry average, will snag more pass receptions and will score more touchdowns. The Sir
^^^^^Portis will get more pass receptions??? you crazy^^^^^ LT is MUCH better, it's not even a contest. But I definitely have no problems with us having Clinton Portis, he's a great back.
Kosher Ham
The Reason LT has so many receptions is because he was their only option. 100 receptions by a RB is NOT a good thing for your team. Portis is a little more explosive, whether receiving or rushing. However LT is more durable so far so I too will say LT is the better choice at this point. RDSKNfaithfull
L.T.
kappaluvacee
Tomlinson......He is the better of the two. I think his all around game is better than CP. CP will show us some things we haven't seen from him yet under Gibbs' system.
VAsBeachBoy
I can't believe anyone would even try to make an argument that CP is better than LT. I will say no more...
manichispanic
LT got my vote. Anyone else feel sorry for him in San Diego?

redskns21
Tomlinson. Dude is a stud. Somebody ranked the backs earlier, mine goes LT, J. Lewis, D. McAllister, C. Portis, P. Holmes. I know that I'm going to catch a little flack for having Duece as high as I do, I just think that Holmes, while great, is a product of the system much like Faulk. What do you guys think? Streater101
I had to give LT the nod over Portis, and any other NFL player that plays the halfback position.
