Oldskool
Bengals | Interested in Trotter? - from www.KFFL.com Thu, 3 Jun 2004 18:59:08 -0700 The Cincinnati Bengals may be interested in adding veteran free agent LB Jeremiah Trotter (Redskins), who was recently released by the Washington Redskins, reports Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis, however, has been mum on the prospects of adding Trotter, whom he coached in 2002 when he was the Redskins defensive coordinator. Brooklynskinsfan
should be a good fit
Dirk Diggler
Wasn't Trotter once of the players who didn't "get it" under Lewis? Then why would they go and add him? I thought Nate Webster was manning the middle after the failed Kevin Hardy experiment?
Chachie
It would not surprise me to see Marvin Lewis acquire another ex-Redskin. If we still had Steve Spurrier I would worry about him making a better team than ours, but we have Joe Gibbs. 'Nuff said.
afparent
Good, the Bengals can have him and when he wants to get revenge against his former team (skins), he can play as good when he tried to get revenge against his former team (eagles) while he was playing for the skins. Lowghost
I hope the Bengals or anybody else besides a NFC East team signs Trotter.
TODD
He'll be Marvin Lewis's best linebacker.... Therefore, he'll be forced to play defensive end.
Brown 43
Where are the Bengals getting all the money? Did Brown open his wallet?
GSF
I'm with Dirk. Wasn't Trotter the biggest violator of freelancing under Marv?
bulldog
the Bengals continue to sign players the Redskins find to be spare parts. Mario Monds, Powell, Sulfsted, Patrick Johnson, etc.
panthro
INteresting. Wouldn't it be funny if the Skins played the Bungels in the SuperBowl in a coming year?
PCS
And they may still be found to be spare parts. Only time will tell. ITrotter actually did get it, imo, not too long before he got hurt that season. Trotter may have excelled under the Lewis scheme, ( as well as other players), if it had stuck around for another year. Marvin I believe was a major factor in getting Trotter in the first place. This because the system he installed in Baltimore had thiings flowing towards the middle, towards Ray Lewis. Now obviously Jerimiah was/is no Ray Lewis, but at the time he was considered to be one of the best MLB's out there and had displayed that for the Eagles. Wouldn't be a surpise at all to see Trotter end up in Cinci. and possibly do weel there too, health withstanding.
OrangeSkin
I'm not at all worried about Trotter starring elsewhere, because he won't. He's an average player at best. The only place he can thrive is Philadelphia, and he was overrated even when he was there.
KDawg
Kinda hypocritical for someone to be saying "And the Bungles continue to keep signing players the Redskins consider to be spare parts." Isn't that what we did with the Jets?

KDawg
They were spare parts to the Jets... Remember, Jets fans claim Moss is just as good as Coles... so yes, the Jets are somewhat looney, but the fact remains
PCS
Funny, the best LB on the Skins could be playing some DE this year as well.......again.
Renegade7
If that's what Marvin wants, let him have it. The man knows what he's doing, but I'm still curious as to what it is exactly.
