Actually they will learn to love trickle up. If he wins, they will pass a Trump tax where all the money from that tax goes to Don.

saw this repeatedly last night on other boards but Biden needs to take the gloves off and go on the attack.

Get down and dirty or else come January, Trump will execute him.

Yeah, the campaign I would run on trump, maga world, and the GOP in general would feature commentary more like you'd associate with George Carlin's takes on religion and politics with a helping of Don Rickles  specifically so the magas could understand my views on them.

Like I've said for years, Obama's "clinging to guns and bibles" and Hillary's "deplorable" comments were only off in being supremely understated and way too gentle.

Biden campaign notches best fundraising day during State of the Union, announces new battleground state swing

https://ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/news/2024/03/08/biden-campaign-notches-best-fundraising-day-during-sotu-as-it-looks-to-take-his-message-out-on-the-road

President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign announced Friday that it had notched record fundraising figures in the hours during and after his State of the Union address.

On Friday, the campaign announced Biden’s high-stakes election-year address powered its best fundraising day since the incumbent president kicked off his reelection bid nearly a year ago.

Biden’s team first logged its most lucrative single hour from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday – an hour that included the president’s entrance into the House chamber and the first half hour of his speech. The record was broken in the 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. hour and then again from 11 p.m. to midnight, the campaign told reporters on a call Friday.

If he can take that message and energy and scale it into 30min campaign stops, that would be something. Nobody wants an hour of rambling like the other guy. Get in there, hit the key points hard, get out of there.

That's excellent advice! Much better for his stamina and energy. He kinda did that yesterday. His speeches should include things the legislation pieces that may impact that specific city, at least the state.

With Trump in full control of rnc, wonder how much money will the rnc actually raise?

Laura Trump said all rnc money is going to Trump. Will donors want to donate; if all their money only going to help one candidate, Trump?

Are the Dems ready to strike. With all rnc money going to Donny, going to hard for gop candidates in close races; who usually rely on rnc money to get over the hump.

Dems could get a sweep and have full control in 25.

With limited money and the extreme positions the gop is taking; this could be a big election for Dems.

The GOP sucks with women.

A lot of moms can’t see themselves in Katie Britt’s kitchen

https://www.washingtonpost.com/style/power/2024/03/08/katie-britt-gop-response-to-biden-speech-suburban-women/

I guess ill note the reaction of my wife, who is not yet 40, has a career and yet somehow manages to be the best mom possible, like it actually astounds me constantly how good she is at momming, her reaction was just “what the **** was that?”

If anyone is wondering what that was...here's the answer:

The Fundie Baby Voice

I was about to head to bed after the State of the Union last night, when I heard a voice coming from my television that stopped me in my tracks. I didn’t know who was speaking, but it really didn’t matter—I recognized the voice. It was so many voices from my childhood. It was so many Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. It was potlucks, and baby showers, and graduations, and birthday parties.

It was Senator Katie Britt using her well-practiced fundie baby voice.

I threw so many folks for a loop last year when I discussed the voice in a video. I used my “training” as a former Evangelical, a Southern Baptist, to describe the breathy cadence and the soft, child-like high pitch. Folks outside of Fundamentalist culture had never heard the term—they just knew the voice made them uncomfortable.

I know that voice well…in fact I can’t shake it myself. It was engrained in every woman I knew from church and every time I speak about it, folks will point out that I sound that way myself. Yes, friends. That’s the point.

Be sweet. Obey. Prove it by speaking in muted tones.

You all know Michelle Duggar. Remember her voice? Too high pitched? Too much like a little girl? Too breathy. That’s purposeful. Michelle has to show submission to her husband in all interactions public. She stared at Jim Bob anytime he spoke. She was quiet until given a question or prompt. She was also harboring secrets and that’s something I can’t forget. Terrible secrets behind that voice.

Christian nationalist Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, is married to a woman who also uses the voice. I first heard her speak in a Fox News interview. I had the same reaction I had to Senator Britt. I turned the video up and listened…and got a cold shiver. Kelly Johnson says nothing too awfully problematic during the interview, but we all know she holds anti-LGBTQ views and even once correlated gay folks with bestiality and incest.

Johnson removed a document from her Christian Counseling site that said, ““We believe and the Bible teaches that any form of sexual immorality, such as adultery, fornication, homosexuality, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, pornography or any attempt to change one’s sex, or disagreement with one’s biological sex, is sinful and offensive to God,”

Some women use their fundie baby voices from habit. From years of lessons, but some have something to hide which they cover for in fundie baby voice and a good-natured temperament. From an abusive husband, to a drinking problem, to hiding a pack of cigarettes in the kitchen, it was often something.

Many of these women also couldn’t keep it up at all times, and I saw lots of masks slip when these women spoke to their children. I remember staying the night with a friend and her mom dropping the voice at home. It can be a little creepy to watch the venom spewed at a child who has spilled his milk when his mother was dripping honey from her mouth just the instant before. It feels cold.

Here’s another one.

North Carolina could be in play because of that idiot the gop nominated for governor.

Don’t think a majority will want a man, who believes women shouldn’t have the right to vote. There could be reverse coattails where the down ballot candidate helps the up ballot candidate.

The...what? lol

And I'm not at all surprised she took something that actually happened, and presented it in a false way for political purposes. A lot of MAGA types on Twitter have been doing this--presenting events that happened years ago as if they are happening now, and sometimes that they are happening to them specifically. I enjoy hunting down the truth behind those stories and responding to those tweets with what I find. This guy did an outstanding job.

I totally agree that while there’s a lot of focus on six states: PA, MI, NV, AZ, WI, and GA; North Carolina could be flipped from red to blue.

Tough few days for Senator Britt. Here is a tip to any woman or minority the GOP asks you to do a response for. Don't. There is a reason why the old white men who want you to do this when otherwise they want the camera time for themselves. It's a suicide mission.

That’s the second time I’ve heard him use the line, paraphrasing, one choice wants to take America backwards, the other wants to move the country to the future. I think that’s a strong campaign motto for this election.

Eyebrows raised as Viktor Orbán to visit Donald Trump in Florida

Hungary’s Viktor Orbán is putting his chips on the table with a trip to visit Donald Trump, as the US and Europe prepare for key elections later this year.

The longtime Hungarian prime minister, who has faced repeated criticism from the US government over democratic backsliding and his friendly relationship with the Kremlin, will be arriving in the US this week without an invitation from the White House.

In an almost unheard-of move for a Nato country’s leader, he is not expected to meet anyone from the Biden administration.

Instead, he is scheduled to speak on Thursday on a panel with the head of a conservative thinktank, the Heritage Foundation, before meeting Trump in Florida on Friday.

The visit, which comes at a low point in Hungary’s post cold war relationship with Washington, is being watched closely in foreign policy circles, in part due to fears that Orbán could use his access to the Republican presidential candidate to promote Kremlin talking points on Ukraine.

Perhaps he's coming to negotiate a deal between Trump and Putin, money for Trump's legal fees/judgments in exchange for some of the national defense documents that Trump managed to keep away from the FBI.

MSNBC aired the entire thing without comment while it played. It was obviously pre-recorded. It was pretty horrible. Handmaid's Tale wife. Like the wife of the commander in the TV series, she was allowed to make speeches in the beginning of Gilead and then "shut up" made mute to the public.
