My first thought is that it was a private conversation that never should have taken place. (Though I respect your point on privacy) It's certainly a true representation of what a piece of **** person/teammate the guy is.

By now people should realize there is no such thing as a private conversation when using social media, or even text messaging.

He'll be seen as a cancer for the rest of his career, and while some guys can get away with that label in other sports leagues, NHL clubs usually always avoid those types.  Especially fringe players with 3 goals on the year.

Hope you enjoyed your conquests, Brendan.  You'll have to lower your standards now that you're not going to be an NHL hockey player anymore.

I read through the Twitter thing and noticed that at least one comment was on a picture of Tom Wilson and his wife, though the comment didn't seem that bad.  Still, if the guy hooks on with another team down the line, he should probably keep his head on a swivel.

He's an average hockey player with a reputation so far down the toilet right now you'd need a team of plumbers to pull it out.  He's not hooking on with another NHL team.

His best hope at this point is to play in a Euro league, work his ass off over there, and hope that in 3 - 4 years another NHL team takes notice of him, assumes he's grown up, and invites him to camp for a tryout.

The 60-something page outline for MLB...players have to arrive dressed to play & leave in their uniforms...NO SHOWERS. I would assume other leagues would have to have similar rules. This country would start to stink in a hurry.

As Springy said, it's just not logistically possible. Every "john", sink, bench that ANYONE touches would have to be immediately sanitized...you're talking about an entire staff just to do THAT.

The only 3 sports that I think can give it a go are singles tennis, golf, and racing horses/cars. (And I'm willing to stipulate that tennis is the only real sport of the 3.) 😉

Only solution would be to do what the NBA is considering and that's having all the teams in one area, Vegas or Orlando.

They gonna run games 16 hours a day on the same surface? I think you have to have 4 rinks plus those city’s practice rinks.

I don’t see how the ice could withstand that many games in one rink.

Yeah you're right I forgot to take that into consideration. I don't know of any area with that many rinks in close proximity that would be suitable for high level NHL play.

Vegas has the T Mobile arena, MGM Grand Garden, Mandalay Bay Events Center, Thomas and Mack Center, and a locals casino where the old AHL team used to play. All not terribly far from each other. Not sure how many of those could be repurposed for NHL.

You mean build out rinks? If they are gonna do that, maybe not pick a place where it's 115 degrees out?

I bet you could find enough rinks in a place like Minnesota where college teams have rinks. Could probably reconstruct them pretty quickly for the right dimensions. Every college team rink within an hour or two.

I saw Tampa and Carolina voted against the playoff format. Tampa actually makes a good point. Teams that don't get a bye won't be playing the same high level intense games. Some round robin format for the top teams to determine seeds is totally meaningless in empty stadiums where home ice isn't a thing.
