PleaseBlitz
I like how they keep showing video of another CVS being ransacked that isn't even in the city, and is from May. Listen carefully at 1:45 and note they show that clip like 5 times in a story about the CVS in Columbia Heights.

Cooked Crack
Police: Man shot by crossbow in Bailey’s Crossroads Quote Fairfax County police are on the lookout for an individual who apparently shot a man in Bailey’s Crossroads with a crossbow. A caller told 911 shortly after midnight on Sunday (Oct. 15) that he was walking down Carlin Springs Road at Columbia Pike when something struck his back, like “he was shot with something,” but he couldn’t tell what it was, according to scanner traffic on Open MHz. Officers and emergency medical services were dispatched to the 3400 block of Carlin Springs Road for the reported assault around 12:05 a.m. Based on a preliminary investigation, police believe the adult man was shot with an arrow fired from a crossbow. Second, if it was a crossbow, it must've been either far away or fairly dull tipped, otherwise it likely would have injured him much worse. EmirOfShmo
This kid is from RVA. My son (who made the recording) met Josiyah when my son was teaching boxing at a local gym (he also knows the trainer from the same gym). This fight was at Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland last Saturday night.

It Includes all of Frederick County, including Emmitsburg. Emmitsburg is 68 miles away from DC. Coincidentally, so is Hagerstown, which is not included, and probably has more people that work in DC than Emmitsburg does.

dfitzo53
I actually don't count Arlington, Montgomery County, or Loudon County as part of the DMV. I do however count Jefferson County, Calvert County, and most of South Jersey (not pictured).

China
DC Mayor Bowser proposes new tough-on-crime legislation With crime on the rise in staggering numbers in D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser unveiled new legislation on Monday that she said would give law enforcement additional tools to keep the District safe. The bill allows D.C. police to temporarily declare “drug-free zones” around the city, creates criminal penalties for “organized retail theft” and reinstates a law that prohibits wearing a mask to commit a crime or threaten others. It’s called the Addressing Crime Trends Now Act (ACT Now), and Bowser said in a news conference Monday that some of the changes proposed by the new legislation are “just plain common sense. ” Bowser said the proposed law will deal with some of the “negative consequences” of the Comprehensive Policing and Justice Reform Amendment Act of 2022, which the D.C. Council passed in December 2022 and Congress sought to overturn last spring. “Some of the changes that were made just don’t match the daily practice of safe and effective policing,” Bowser said, referencing how police make contact with a person, how they use body camera footage to write their reports and whether they can chase a “criminal who’s in front of them.” Bowser was joined by acting D.C. police Chief Pamela Smith, Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice Lindsey Appiah and D.C. Council members Kenyan McDuffie, Janeese Lewis George and Anita Bonds in announcing the proposed legislation. ixcuincle
Arlington and MoCo are DMV. MoCo is literally adjacent to DC and a big M in the DMV. Anyway hope they find that jagoff that shot that judge. Last I heard of he ditched his SUV and is still in hiding. Piece of excrement.

DC is "core" (of course), along with all of Fairfax County, including the area beyond Manasshole, but Arlington, Bethesda, Silver Spring, and Alexandria are "not core". Meanwhile places touching West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Lake Anna are part of metro-dc, while people that live less than 10 miles from the beltway on i95 are not???
