Hillary is a socialist?  I thought the narrative was that she was a shill for Wall Street.

I don't think she ever suggested central control of the means of production.

It's whatever they want her to be for the purposes of the current argument, liar, criminal, socialist, Wall Street shill, murderous whore. It doesn't matter. They ONLY bring up the former candidate because they are looking to divert attention away from their massive screw up with Trump. 33%ers like @ABQCOWBOY aren't going to believe anything about Trump because then it'll indict their choice of him. They can complain all they want about lack of choice, but they chose to vote for him and for them to admit that this clown is possibly the worst mistake ever made in the history of Presidential history is just too much to bear for their ego. So instead of just manning up and admitting the screw up they instead double down, obsfuscate, deflect, divert, and muddy the waters all in an effort to insulate themselves from having to admit that they made a mistake.

My statement was in general.  In fairness to you, can you tell us why you voted for Donald Trump?  I honestly have a hard time understanding why someone would.  I often feel like the kid in The Emperor's New Clothes when I think about this.

As for your party comment, the only party I belong to is one where beer is served.

Yes, and I believe I have already done this but, I'll do it again.  He was the only option on the Right we had here.  The other options were a socialist, which I would never vote for and Hillary, which once again, I would never vote for.

You can say that this is party line but the truth of the matter here is that if there were a good option on the Democratic side, this past election would have been the best chance to get my vote in years.  Honest to God, as I live and breath, that's the truth.

I just do not understand why the Democrats ran such a poor candidate as Hillary.  They had so many better options IMO.

Yeah you have to love how the narrative about them change. Obama has been called, by right wing nutters, an Islamist, an atheist, a communist, a fascist, a socialist, and a shill for Wall Street...many times often in the same breath/paragraph. It shouldn't be surprising that the same cognitive dissonance (and rather impressive ability to mentally disregard it) infects the right when it comes to Hillary as well.

LOL.......   Wow.  Hey, it's cool with me, if you want to associate Hillary as a Socialist, I'm good.  First time for everything I guess.

Perhaps you meant Bernie but he wasn't on the ballot so that's where the confusion in your statement arose.

Not perhaps, I've actually said that Bernie is the Socialist, at least twice in this thread.  The Hillary thing was made up 100% and the clarification ignored.  It is what it is.  What it is is funny to me.  What it is not is a big deal.

As far as the CBO is concerned, they really haven't gotten much correct recently.  I put zero stock into what they say anymore because they are too easily influenced by simply providing poor data.  But hey, that's why we have opportunity to vote right?

I could understand taking the CBO with a grain of salt but why zero credibility? What are you using in its place to contrast the projections of the OMB? Doesn't it at least give you pause that there is a $2 trillion error in their budget that mulvaney even admitted too (and then tried to brush off and downplay).

There were two choices so when you said: "Hillary, a socialist, and Trump" I assumed you were referring to Hillary as a socialist. Perhaps that isn't what you meant.

Something more credible, I would hope.   But to answer your question, I'm not really all that concerned with projections at this point because this plan is far from finalized.  this plan is going to change a great deal between now and when anything actually gets approved.  The numbers mean nothing at this point.

That's what I thought too.  Maybe he took a course at the Donald Trump School of Communication.

If you read further, you will see that I clarify once it is called into question.   Multiple times, in fact.

I wasn't talking about you specifically; I know you clarified. I was talking about the right wing nutters (which I don't really consider you to be, for the record) who DO scream and yell about Hillary being a socialist or Obama being a communist, Kenyan, fascist, whatever else.

Dan, how did that Party Line vote go again, for you?  Take your time, I notice you've been busy googling Donald Trump Educational facilities.  I highly recommend it.  Good luck.

I don't think Hillary is a Socialist.  I sometimes question if she is even Left.  It's funny because I actually believe that Trump has much, much more left lean in him, then most give him credit for.

The world is upside down I tell ya.

I don't understand the whole "socialism is evil" stigma. There are areas where it makes sense and areas where it doesn't. If you enjoy the fact that you could be taking your kids to public school on public roads and, if you get hit, emergency vehicles will come get you and take you to the hospital where they will save your life even if you don't have insurance, you've got a little bit of socialist in you.

Every other developed nation in the world does healthcare better than we do but if we scream "socialism!" the masses are willing to keep paying more, getting less, and allowing people to suffer or die so that some really rich people can get even richer.

As to the drunk part, I guess I would say, don't tease me.

Has little to do with Evil or Good for me.  I just don't think it works, that's all.  I would also debate the whole, every country does medical better thing.  I mean, maybe now but not before IMO.   That is just my opinion of course.

I don't think Trump has a left or right lean. I don't think he has a lean, because I don't think he has any actual firmly held beliefs. The only thing I think matters to him is what he can immediately gain from taking one position or another in front of whichever audience he's addressing/courting...whether the gain is financial or praise/love/adulation. And I say "immediately gain" because, as has become painfully obvious, he has absolutely no skill at long term strategic thinking.

If that guy weren't born into a rich family he'd probably be your classic grifter/con man who drifts from one place to another and one low level scam to another.

LOL....  Well, yeah, you are right.  The whole Hillary is light years more intelligent thing would definitely be a big guess alright.

I see it in certain things and in some of his past positions but I will say this, I think it's still too early in his Presidency to say anything for sure on him.

It's ok, I figured you were wrong about that too.

Kinda goes with out saying.  That you would come to that conclusion yeah?  I mean, it's not as if we don't know each other and what we each think about certain things.  You are all in for Hillary and I believe she should be in Prison.  It's pretty much as simple as that.

Of course it can work. There are no shortage of examples where socialist ideas are implemented to great benefit. Like I said, there are times where it makes sense and times where it doesn't. It's silly to throw out the times where it does (like healthcare) because some people (who stand to benefit personally) go around telling us that socialism is a scary word.

The reverse can also be applied.  there are many examples of where it has failed.

Your statement about benefit and healthcare is interesting to me.  Do you not see that a perceived benefit is only for some?  do you not see that the entire statement is bias?  In no way, shape or form does the current system benefit me.  There are really two sides to every story.
