@DCGoldPants
This is more than a trend now. This is what voters in the state are ok with. Dems/Liberals/Progressives/whatever need to stop complaining about this. Need to even stop attacking this because all the supporters do is dig in deeper. Doesn't matter if it's against their own self-interests. They need a new message that is simple and easy to understand. "If you want Tax cuts...not for you. But for your bosses bosses boss......vote for them. If you want to die earlier and in deeper debt......vote for them. If you want the state/national park lake where you fish to be opened to dumping.....vote for them. If you want to be told nothing is your fault, but also have opportunity limited for you....vote for them. If you want your private information sold to the highest bidder....vote for them." If you're ready to roll up your sleeves and work together in a sense of community and patriotism like our parents or grandparents did during WWII, AND not be called a socialist or fascist because of it. Maybe don't vote for them and do something that will benefit you AND your kids in the long run." I've been done feeling bad reading stories of the "X" supporter who now has this awful situation and just last month/year he was railing against whatever program that would have helped. Dems are stuck under the Pelosi/Schumur rinse and repeat style of complaining while offering the same stuff. Not enough people are buying it. Teddy Roosevelt isn't coming back from the dead to launch a New BullMoose Progressive Party. That doesn't mean you can't take that tone and strength in rolling that out. Need a better and clearer voice to do it. Edited May 26, 2017 by @SkinsGoldPants

It's not enough to tell voters that they shouldnt like the GOP. That said, I wouldnt take too much out of not winning the Montana congressional seat. It's Montana.

They aren't offering the voters anything more than vague "freedom" from whatever. These people aren't interested in how debt and deficits work. They believe that for some reason that the ACA is ruining their lives. Those illegal immigrants are ruining their lives. That anything bad is the fault of somebody else. Not advocating isolationism. But sometimes it feels like the only thing that would work is seeing if all these progressives or liberals (whatever you want to call them) leaving these areas in mass and going to the "fake" America where they have more opportunity anyway. Not calling anybody stupid for not going to school. But if employers want those liberal elite snowflakes who know how to do x,y,z because they learned it in college. Then they will want to follow talent they need. Doesn't matter if a state gives more tax breaks to a company if they can't produce their goods/services from there. Meh, whatever....Suckers' wish right there.

That's a two party answer. #1. No, they aren't. #2. Also, those against it haven't been able to explain why it's bad either. Just that healthcare isn't a right. They aren't making the connection that they are paying for it one way or another. The Progressive States should create their own smaller versions of the ACA that focuses on fixing what didn't work in the original. It would probably be a selling point for people to move there anyway. Pointing to Kansas and Brownback amazingly didn't work. If you can't show somebody the scene of a car wreck with the bodies still laying around AND convince they why drunk driving is wrong. Then they probably aren't going to get it. I think EVERY STATE should do that. I'm against it. And even though it's only my experience, the ACA has caused an increase in premiums and a decrease in company options. Additionally, it has accelerated the decline in physician options. Philosophically, I dont agree with requiring an insurance company to insure someone with a preexisting condition (though that definition should be addressed). But I do like allowing adult children to remain on parents plans as a way to bridge the gap from college to employment.

LD0506
If you think any of this is going to mystically, magically change, you're delusional. History is a demanding mistress but she makes the pain worth it. The demographic in this country that cheers this **** on is immune to debate, to facts and figures, to pretty much anything other than pain and suffering on a personal level, so that's what it's gonna be. They are grabbing onto this illusion that the * is going to wave his magic wand and turn their towns back into Mayberry. That's bad enough on a "1 to 100 scale of WTF?" but they genuinely think someone else somewhere else is going to pay for it all, that it will just drop out of the sky like rain, jobs and factories and paychecks and reading comprehension and personal hygiene and everything else they lack. Daterape Donny and his billionaire minions are going to craft this amazing Witless Protection Program and all the stupid white people will be automatically enrolled. History laughs, a deep, rolling laugh full of schadenfreude and comeuppance. History has a lesson plan that will count the bodies in the millions. History doesn't give one small ****, you will learn.

Maybe it's Maryland but the process was very easy to use the exchange and my rates haven't done anything crazy. But I'm generally healthy. So, that's me. Back to my point. Let Montana be Montana. Let Kansas be Kansas. If things collapse for them. That sucks. But choices should have consequences. Maybe this guy does a good job for Montana even if he's unhinged. Maybe they don't care if he delivers at all. Whatever.

You called out GOP voters. As a whole. Not the GOP voters in Montana. There is WAY too much broad brush bull**** being applied to anyone who doesn't agree with the anti-GOP mantra, both here and elsewhere. There is no discourse, just shouting and mocking. And what does the fact that "a white dude" did anything have to with anything? Politicians do stupid **** every day and get away with it, regardless of what letter is associated with them.
