Tucker Carlson’s War Against Fox News Will Only Get Dirtier

Tucker Carlson and his loyalists have begun an intense pressure campaign against Fox News in the hopes of getting him released from a noncompete clause—and people familiar with the situation tell Confider the squabble may only get worse as the fired primetime star may know where some proverbial bodies are buried.

A steady stream of leaks about Fox News over the past week, designed to embarrass the network or further undermine its standing with conservative viewers, have come after negotiations between Carlson’s lawyers and Fox have stalled out.

The talks were initially productive, Confider has learned, but have since turned into “meaningless conversations,” as one person with knowledge of the matter described it.

Fox had been willing to let Carlson appear on a digital platform so long as he stayed off traditional TV—something which they have since backtracked on as the former on-air host announced he’s taking his show to Twitter. That stalemate has pushed Carlson and his team to ratchet up the pressure with newly planted stories about his ex-employer.

According to people familiar with the situation, Carlson and his team’s deep industrial knowledge of the network means they are sitting on a treasure trove of potentially damaging Fox secrets, including revelations about extramarital affairs and workplace misconduct.

^^^^Tucker Carlson calls Ukraine’s Jewish leader ‘rat-like’ as he launches new Twitter show with pro-Kremlin rant

Tucker Carlson described Ukraine’s Jewish leader as “rat-like”, questioned the official story about 9/11, and claimed definitively that aliens are visiting Earth as he launched his new TV show on Twitter.

The far-right former Fox News anchor opened the next act of his career with a pro-Kremlin rant claiming that it was “obvious” Ukrainian forces were responsible for the destruction of the Kakhovka dam on Tuesday.

He referred to Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky as “sweaty and rat-like”, “a persecutor of Christians”, and in bed with American investment bankers.

Both Ukraine and Russia have blamed each other for the destruction of the dam, which lies within Russian-controlled territory in Ukraine and supplies water to a large area of the country. Western intelligence agencies have said they are not sure who was responsible.

Carlson, however, who was taken off the air by Fox News this April, hewed strongly towards the Russian line on the incident, while accusing US senator Lindsey Graham of being “aroused” by the killing of Russian troops.

Fox News could be banned from Canadian TV as CRTC considers allegations network promotes ‘hatred and violence’

The federal agency tasked with regulating Canada’s broadcasting and television services is mulling a ban on Fox News from Canadian cable packages.

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) is seeking public comments on whether to remove the right-wing network from its list of stations authorized for distribution in Canada.

The CRTC’s consultation process, running until June 2, follows an open letter issued by the LGBTQ advocacy group Egale Canada, which argued the American channel promotes “hatred and violence against 2SLGBTQI communities.”

The April letter, which called on the federal agency to initiate a public hearing on the issue, came after the Toronto-based organization was featured on Fox News’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

Egale Canada said the program’s now former host, conservative commentator Tucker Carlson, made “false and horrifying claims” about individuals who are Two-Spirit, transgender, non-binary and gender nonconforming.

“During the segment, Carlson made the inflammatory and false claim that trans people are ‘targeting’ Christians. To position trans people in existential opposition to Christianity is an incitement of violence against trans people that is plain to any viewer,” read the letter, signed by Egale Canada executive director Helen Kennedy and addressed to Vicky Eatrides, chairperson and CEO of the CRTC.

“This programming is in clear violation of Canadian broadcasting standards and has no place on Canadian broadcasting networks.”

First on CNN: Raj Shah out at Fox in wake of historic Dominion settlement

Raj Shah, the Fox Corp. brand protection executive who pushed Fox News in an even more pro-Trump direction after the 2020 election, has left the company.

“Raj brought talent and creativity to his role at Fox,” Fox spokesperson Brian Nick told CNN on Thursday. “We appreciate his service and wish him the best on his next endeavor.”

Shah, who left the company in May, had previously served in the Trump administration as a senior communications official. The reason for Shah’s departure was not known, and he could not be immediately reached for comment.
