Gunmen 'take hostages' in attack on hotel in Mali capital

Gunmen have attacked a Radisson hotel in Mali’s capital, Bamako, and were believed to be holding hostages, a senior source with the security forces and witnesses said.

“Very early in the morning there was gunfire. Apparently it’s an attempt to take hostages. The police are there and are sealing off the area,” the source said.

The raid targeted the Radisson Blu hotel, located just west of the city centre in a neighbourhood that is home to government ministries and diplomats, the sources said.

The US embassy in Bamako said in a series of tweets that it was aware of an “ongoing shooter situation” and advised its citizens to seek shelter.

"And the hits keep coming"!!

Prayers sent for the victims of THIS terrorist attack.

This is exactly what I was going to post, and I hate to put sarcasm with tragedy...we shorties must think alike, tho.

Prayers for all affected.  The families of the hostages must be sick with fear.

I sometimes use sarcasm to fight sadness or frustration. It seems like this is a daily occurrence now. Very sad.
