skinned_alive
The team doesn't know how to convert potential into wins and we don't know how to support a team that is struggling. We're so used to the Cerrato era where every year felt like now or never - we don't know how to be patient. So every move, thought, play, drop, missed tackle is "more of the same Redskins". I don't agree with this..we learned how to win last year...This years struggles comedown to piss poor coaching ,not enough offensive reps they need to razzle up this offense. newday
The idea that Shanny did not want the person they gave up picks for to get to #2 is just ridiculous. Whoever that is. Whatever his marketing value to the franchise. Black, white, brown or yellow. Doesn't matter. Shanny runs this team. Nobody gets drafted at #2 after giving all that up if Shanny isn't 101% on board. It's his ultimate responsibilty. Danny, Kyle, Bruce, and fans can lobby and pound the table. But it's up to Shanny. No mistake about that. And that's as it should be. As we all ultimately want it to be. And finally, in DC, it is. We should be happy about that. Cousins was a luck strike. Didn't expect to have him there. Was high on the board. Is a QB -- most valuable position. Made sense. Pick made. That was that. We've benefited from it already and will continue to in the years to come. RedskinsInFebruary
Defenses have caught up to the Read Option. Just like they did with the Wildcat. You can use it once in a while, maybe catch somoene off guard, but its not nearly as lethal as it was last year. Seattle & San Francisco are barely using it. I don't think anyone was anywhere near as successful with the RO than RG3 was last year. I think the difference is this year Griffin just doesn't have the same speed, nor the confidence, and maybe not the desire (does he want to develop his traditional dropback game?). bowhunter
Read Option. Perhaps no one has noticed, but when we've run it, the defense has been waiting. The massive lanes we saw last year are not there. Perhaps no one has seen that other teams who have been running it are not running it nearly as much.. the 49ers for example. Seattle has been using it, but using it less. This is the method of football since football began: Offense innovates. Defense adapts. Offense must innovate again. Defense ALWAYS adapts. There has yet to be an offensive wrinkle developed that defense has not been able to adapt to. We all know that all offseason every defensive mind in the NFL went to work on the read-option. And now, oh what do you know! it's less effective. Defense has adapted, and rather quickly. Now, we also have factors in RG3s knee and our overall offensive execution that is slowing our playbook down, but it's also a major factor that defenses have changed the way they're playing the read option quarterback. ~Bang This "defense adapts" concept. I like it. Does Coach Hazlett know about this??
Lavarleap56
I'll repeat, Snanny DID NOT want to draft RGIII. Sorry to ruin the fun but that is 100% not true.
Cliffmark1
Sorry to ruin the fun but that is 100% not true. A healthy RG3 could run a shannhan offense perhaps better than any other QB has.
