Who is your Redskins Team of the '00s?

Isn't it fun to be winning again? Since we have several days to savor the anticipation, why not look back to see if we can wring any great memories out of the black hole that was the first decade of the 2000s?

Let's take the opportunity to post our Team of the Decade—the Redskin players who were best at their positions from 2000 to 2009. (I know the decade officially started in 2001, but let's keep it simple.)

So here are the rules:

1. For each position listed below, post ONE name of the Redskin you thought played the position best during the 2000–2009 period.

2. Only consider play that actually happened during that period. For example, if you're thinking of Stephen Davis, you can't include his performance in 1999 when you consider him.

Simple, right? Here you go. (I'll post my personal team lower down so as not to bias anyone.)

Man, that list looks about right, but it sure is depressing.

Scott Brunell at QB? Oh how we have needed a Q like RG3.

'Twas a rough decade, but hopefully our misery is over.

You just won the game.

I literally went for months without losing the game and you broke that streak.

You ****. :ols:

I'm pretty sure the answer is basically the 2005 team with a few changes on defenses (Champ Bailey, Landry,)

Fortunately the '99 team played in the playoffs in the year 2000 so I can say Brad Johnson and Stephen Davis. That was the only other really good, balanced offense we have had in the past 20 years. RG3/Morris have already supplanted those guys for me though (Johnson and Davis basically only had one year as well so it's not like they had some kind of long legacy).

Yeah, this is pretty much what I was thinking, though I'd like to pull in Fletcher, early career Arrington, get Bailey, Landry, and Taylor all together in the secondary with probably 04 Springs or maybe Smoot. Orakpo should be there, though he'd probably need a slightly different build to play 4-3 DE. Campbell and Brunell are close, which says alot about what we were working with, and I'd snag Coles for WR2, but other than WR2 it's all '05 on O.

Also, for HC, most people probably pick Gibbs, and I won't argue that that's a solid pick, but I feel like Schottenheimer, if given more time, could have done some good.

I can't believe Darrell Green isn't making people's lists.

Green has just 3 seasons that qualify and although he's obviously great it was at the tail end of his career. Bailey had 4 seasons, started off very well, and Springs had 5 seasons with us and 2 of those we made playoffs.
