He was drafted by current Colts general manager Bill Polian when Polian was running the Carolina Panthers. Looks like the AFC South could be up for grabs. MartinC
Kerry Collins? Seriously, that's their backup plan in case Peyton can't go - wow!
Hitman#21
You dont retire in the NFL, you are told when to retire.
terrifNick21
Houston, you best win this division this year.

tdigle
Better him than Favre.
Hitman#21
I thought he retired? The only way NFL players retire with the exception of some like Barry Sanders is if there is no job opening for them. That is why Collins has come back...
WhoRUSupposed2Be
He's older than dirt... they'd been better off luring Steve Young out of retirement

TD_washingtonredskins
I know this isn't exactly going out on a limb, but I don't see the Colts winning more than 8 games this year...even if Manning doesn't miss one snap.
Botched
Meh, why not. He can't possibly be worse than their current backup Liam McPoyle.

Voice_of_Reason
I'm surprised. Sorgi is still out there and at least has experience in the system. Collins has experience starting. I dunno. Strange. Though, their QB situation minus manning is just poor. I don't know how Polian let it get this bad. (Half jokingly) I wonder if they called Favre? pjfootballer
Painter and Orlovsky suck the big one right now. Not surprising, but I too wonder why they didn't go after Sorgi since he knows the system.

I don't know that he had much of a choice other than to skimp on the backup because of the amount of $ that Manning makes. Bringing in a good backup would be a lot of money for the quarterback position, especially since Manning has a consecutive starting streak going, they are used to the backup never playing except for garbage time, when all he does is hand the ball off. Taylor 36
This says a lot about where the Colts truly believe Manning is in his recovery and what they truly think of Painter.
C26 Run
That should've been done before the preseason even started. This division was already up for grabs. Their back-ups qbs are terrible. :helmet:
Santana_89
Whoa the Colts may be in some serious trouble if they're bringing in Kerry Collins at the 9th hour. As smart as Bill Polian is why the hell hasn't he drafted a viable young qb to back up Peyton? I know he's Peyton Manning and all but sooner or later injuries catch up with the best of them. Go Texans hopefully the can take advantage of a possibly Manning less Colts team.

Redskins_2231
Like how Reggie Wayne and other vets were "rallying around" Carter Painter when they heard Collins was signed.
