NewCliche21
So every morning I come online, turn on Pandora, and browse the boards/facebook/news/etc. (yes, lots of "etc."). Anyway, Pandora started this new Comedy station with random stand-up. Whitney Cummings just came on talking about porn and asked her audience, which was D.C. that night, what they thought about porn. The audience hooted and applauded, duh, and she said, "Oh, yeah? You like porn? Do you guys have political porn? Like, 'Oh yeah, umm . .. ' yeah I can't think of any politicians. [Laughter] You know the only person that came to mind when I was trying to think of a politician is Art Monk. Most of you aren't old enough to know who he is, 10-year-old boy in the front row." Wow. I know a lot of comedians from being in the business a while back, and she's from D.C., but that was probably the most random Redskins reference I've ever heard. Anybody got their own obscure references to our boys in burgundy and gold?
RFKFedEx
Cousin Oliver on the Brady Bunch wore a Redskins jacket in a few episodes from the early 70s.
DC9
The best I can think of is in the movies when I see random actors wearing Redskins gear, which doesn't happen often. I think transformers was the last one I saw where Anthony Anderson wore a Clinton Portis jersey. It could be a sign that my life revolves around this team far too much, but I don't seem to allow myself a chance to get a random reference.... HAIL! WhoRUSupposed2Be
So Gene Hackman is a 'Skins fan??!? Hmmmmm... I was watching the Shaquille O'Neal All-Star Comedy Show one night and saw a guy sitting in the audience that had a 'Skins cap and jacket on... sweet. Chanhillbilly
The scene of the Redskins are playing in Donnie Darko. Gibbs in the rain with his glasses soaked, talking about how Rypien must take over the helms.
Audible_Red40
JJ from Criminal Minds is a Redskins fan. Does this count?
sideshow24
I can't find a specific episode, but in the show "Yes, Dear" Jimmy is a Skins fan. Greg was the Redskins fan I thought. They even built it into the plot a few times. He grew up in Virginia so I think when the writers introduced the idea of rooting for a team he chose the Redskins. He grew up in Virginia so I think when the writers introduced the idea of rooting for a team he chose the Redskins. All of them were redskin fans. Christie wore a Taylor jersey, Greg would miss church to watch the Skins with Jimmy especially the Cowboys game. Kim really didn't care about sports. They all grew up in VA. Gre and Kimm went to UVA. And yes I watched alot of Yes Dear.
dbcooper
Something I saw the other day... I watched that movie "the hurt locker" and the scene where the three dudes were getting drunk and punching each other, there is a Redskins poster on the wall. When I saw it, I yelled "yeah!", then went back to silence because its such a depressing movie. The poster drew as much emotion as anything else in that movie... Hail. SuperSkinette
It's anything but obscure, but The Blind Side starts with Lawrence Taylor's hit on Theismann...

Which is why in almost every other episode, there was Redskins stuff being worn.

pjfootballer
The movie The Replacements is loosely based on the 1987 Redskins strike players.
RFKFedEx
It's anything but obscure, but The Blind Side starts with Lawrence Taylor's hit on Theismann... Because I'm a Skins fan I felt like that movie blamed Joe Jacoby for missing the block. They didn't mention him by name, but the left tackle's gaff was the focus. Jake didn't even play in that game. He used to be a producer on WTEM for Tony Kornheiser. I think his name is Greg Garcia. But he grew up in Virginia either in Arlington or Alexandria I believe.
