Two deep in rotation quality players at each position plus a third center and three good development guys. Plus Meeks I guess, although I expect nothing from him. I'm not even sure he's still one of our 15 roster spots right now. I like it. When everyone is healthy we can run a 10 man rotation and have Jason Smith be the towel waver and break glass big and groom Brown/Bryant/Robinson in junk time to take over rotation spots after Rivers's, Howard's, and Green's deals expire. I don’t think Rivers will succeed at back up point guard for largely the same reasons so many others have failed. The wizards don’t run enough plays. This is especially true when Wall is healthy. Rivers isn’t bad, but he’s not going to shine trying to impersonate Wall. It’s asking too much and I fully expect Brooks to continue to coach this way. (Wittman did this too) It’s not just the offense that’s a problem either. Scott Brooks has been horrible on the other side of the ball as well. Howard will help the defense, but he’s also going to lose his **** when constantly switched onto guards and left on an island. We’ll see how the team handles that, because I’m not convinced the locker room issues ended with Gortat departure. Long story short, I don’t think Brooks is good enough for this team to be great. Going Commando Posted October 2, 2018 Share Posted October 2, 2018 Sato is the primary back up at PG and Rivers is the primary back up at SG. Rivers is going to play with Wall a fair amount. I don't think anyone is expecting greatness. There is only one great team in the NBA. Maybe two if Houston doesn't regress.
