StillUnknown
Sessions, temple, oubre, gooden, blair.... What could go wrong? That lineup is a white flag
CRobi21
Oubre bringing some energy here tho on D. And hits a nice open 3.
Going Commando
Otto reminds me so much of Rip Hamilton.
Skin'emAlive
This new defense Witt came up with should be tossed back in the trashcan he found it in.
Warhead36
Without Beal we just dont have the firepower
Destino
The defense is so bad. We expected it to be better with Otto instead of Pierce, an obvious upgrade if there ever was one. Instead the team collectively is awful defensively. Wittman is going to have to earn that rep of his for getting guys to play defense.
CRobi21
JMichaelCSN - Gooden, Blair, Temple, Sessions and Dudley off bench combine to shoot 0-for-12 . #WizardsTalk @CSNWizards #NBA #WizThunder
Skin'emAlive
Its one thing if they were making tough shots. But these 3's are completely uncontested. This is a defensive philosophy issue. the 4 and 5 spots routinely get trounced from the perimeter, and without Beal, count the 2 spot as well. Destino
They don't even need Durant. They stretched the lead without him.
Going Commando
The team is playing horrible. I'm sorry, but if you're not concerned, then you're not watching. God I hate odd years in DC sports. Ernie needs to make some trades to get a better bench. Sessions is the only guy giving us positive contributions. CRobi21
Im confused as much as I am concerned. Coming off that SA victory theyve looked like a completely different team.
Going Commando
It's going to take us like three months and a couple of trades to get into shape.
Gamebreaker
I can't believe Blair airballed a shot from 7 feet away. You shouldn't be allowed in the NBA anymore if you do something like that.
pjfootballer
Hoo boy. This team better get their act together quick.
Skin'emAlive
The defense right now is atrocious. How hard is it to stay on your man who is spotting up for 3?
RonArtest15
Got back in from working out...put on the game and saw we were down about 25. I have no clue what happened as I literally saw the score and then flipped over to the Caps. Gonna rely on you guys for the recap LOL.
Going Commando
It was a forgettable game. Nobody really played particularly well except maybe Sessions. The story of the game is the defense and rebounding are abominable. We are getting less than nothing from the PF spot and it is killing us. Going Commando
Actually Otto played pretty well too. He's scoring with confidence and looks a lot better at the FT line this season.
Going Commando
I think the most frustrating part about the season is that Wall is a star and Otto and Beal are making the leap for which we've patiently waited... and the team looks like it's falling apart around them. Those three coming into their own was supposed to mean this team could win 50 games.
pjfootballer
Trying to play an uptempo offense, we ignore rebounding and defense. I don't mind the type of small ball we played against Toronto in the playoffs, but we didn't try to run them out of the gym. We're not rebounding and playing defense, trying to run. Someone has to rebound.
TheItalianStallion
So is our defensive system different from last year?
Destino
The offense shouldn't impact the half court defense, but the half court defense to my eye looks pretty awful as well. Teams are getting to the rim relatively easily or getting wife open shots. No one is chasing off shooters and the rotations around the rim are practically nonexistent. It's ugly. Couple a bad defense with league leading turnovers and you've got a recipe for disaster. Even if we clean the turnovers up a little, I'm not sure this team has the firepower to try to beat teams scoring 100+ points every night. Randy better clean this up. chipwhich
Only question is, when does Wittman get fired?
Skin'emAlive
Its ironic. Wall, Beal, and Porter have looked great to start the season. But by benching Nene, pushing the 4 to the perimiter, and implementing an uber fast offense, we destroy the defense and offensive flow. Its pretty simple actually. 1. Neither Nene or Gortat are rim protectors, though they are our best on the team. Nene is a great help defender where Gortat can clean up. Humphries is probably our greatest rebounder. But by pushing the 4 to the perimeter, the interior becomes a seive. Every time a guy drives in, the 4 or 5 rushes in to help, and then a kick to a wide open 4 on the perimeter results. Its automatic. 2. The fast paced offense drains Gortat extremely quickly. Halfway through the 1st, he is already winded and cant even deam of guarding the perimeter or rebounding with the same intensity. This kills the pick and roll game that Marcin brings to the table. With Nene being the only guy who can come in an replace him, we are completely screwed. What the hell are we going to do when this fast paced offense reults in Gortat getting injured... 3. Dudley might be less athletic than Diaw. Additionally, he is worse at defense and rebounding. The fact that he is coming off back surgery means, I dont see this getting any better this year. Look, I know the league is changing to a perimeter based offense, but this is an il-conceived setup. Our bench is worse than ever. And worst of all... the one reason we torpedoed our bench for 2 years seems annoyed at even the prospect of coming here and playing for this team. Duckus
Dudley has the body shape or most of the guys who play pickup at the park near my house. Also, good lord. I feel uncomfortable about the insane KD2DC stuff. I can't imagine how creeped out KD feels. Edited November 11, 2015 by Duckus
