I was critical of Kuzma after the first couple games, but I've been really impressed with him lately. Plays within the offense, plays good defense, boxes out. His shot is really nice too. Need to get him some more looks.

Fun game so far, Gafford was an absolute steal.

Agreed on both players.

I'll add im almost ready to apologize to Dani for being hard on him, too.  Hes doing a lot of dirty work that doesn't show on the box score, I dont know if he'll ever get his shot right, but the effort is there.

Same, honestly never expected Deni to turn into a defensive specialist, but it's a welcome turn of events. Positively impacting the team's performance even if he's off offensively.

I suspect much of this is Wes's doing.

Very interesting comparison over on the Wiz Reddit. And I think it's spot on.

Deni is basically playing a Draymond role. Lockdown defense with great rebounding and effort. He can push the ball up and is always looking to facilitate in the half court.

He's been great tonight. Growth.

Only reason this game was close because of turnovers (19) and offensive rebounds allowed (16).  Wizards are playing much better defense, but if they can’t get the defensive rebound they’re just wasting that effort.

tell me what he did in the last two minutes.

Wouldn’t have mattered without a Beals 30.  Lets not kid ourselves, Beal did the heavy lifting on offense today.

Beal was fantastic for about 95% of the game, but his clutch gene is just non existent. Dimwiddle seems much better in that area and the offense should honestly run through him in those situations.

But he carried the offensive load tonight. Such is his value, you can have games like this where you win with just one guy scoring most of the points if the supporting pieces do their jobs.

Agreed, quiet 30 but 30 none the less.  I know a lot of folks are sick at the idea of giving Beal supermax, but when you're talking about a player that averages 30ppg, you give it to him and hope for the best.

This isnt a "do we give otto max" situation,  and I've seen us waste cap space we don't know what to do with *cough Ian Mahinmi
