Rumor mill is swirling about Bafetimbi Gomis possibly being out of Swansea on loan to Marseille. Seems as though the response to him heading out will be resoundingly positive from SCFC fans. Being a n00b I don't want to pretend as though I have a strong opinion one way or the other. From what I've read though, he's been a disappointment for the most part. Lol He's a monster in FIFA. But his real life performance, not so much.

Good. That dude is like an Arsenal killer.

Lol He does seem to do particularly well against Arsenal. I was doing a little research on the subject last night and it seemed the majority of his highlights were specifically against Arsenal.

Gomis was a good goal scorer and had a great celebration (he'd crawl around like a lion or something) but for whatever reason he fell out of favor and played mostly off the bench the second half of the season.

Wonder if they'd try to get Wilfried Bony back from City?

Yeah, I have seen the celebration. Definitely cool.

In regards to Bony it looks like Leicester has interest.

As an aside, I wanted Bony over Balotelli when Suarez left... but he's rotted on City's bench just like we predicted.

Good for him...

Every reputable journo seems to think it's nailed on they'll meet our price for 'wee Joe' as soon as Wales are done in France.

Hail.

And the unrespected ones have him going to Sevilla.

I love Allen but we can do better there.  Especially if Kovacic is in the low 20s range right now.

Leicester are in the market for everyone.  Ironically they are legit pissed off over Troy Deeney and Watford.

Did ya'll see they left balls and chains outside of King Power today?  ****ing ridiculous...

Yeah, no ill felling toward him at all. Technically very talented. Just doesn't have that speed needed to break away from players. Would of been happy for him to stay as a squad player, but fair play to him, he wants to play football. We aren't too keen on offering him another contract at first team money like, but I don't think it's about money with Allen. He just wants to be playing every week.

We can do better as you mentioned (his glaring miss the opening minutes of the semi in Villarreal hammered that home to me), he get's what he wants, and we recoup nearly all the fee back after 4 years. Win/win.

Yeah, he just wants time on the pitch and he's earned it, tbh... he's just not Liverpool quality in our hunt for 19 this year.

Speaking of Joe, Rodgers signed Dembele today did you see?

the US?

We could've beat them today.

But putting Sturridge on the wing is akin to Klinsmann putting Zardes on the wing.  Neither are wingers.  Neither really know what to do out there and what they do they don't do well.

Play players in their positions.  Force feeding Kane and Rooney into the 11 was Hodgson's downfall... along with not taking Drinkwater.

There was no midfield to speak of and having strikers on the wing and expecting service?

And who knows what Raheem Sterling is anymore.  I'm not sure he'd score double-digits in MLS right now.  We have tons of fast players, too.

The attacking was reeealllyyy lacking but you pretty much touched on the issue and so did the commentators. The outside midfield seemed way out of position and couldn't put a service into the middle to save their lives. Too many touches in the offensive third and no one with the 1v1 skill to breakthrough and create a goal on their own. It seemed like they needed an entire new 7 players in the midfield and up front. One of these days the English side will put it all together and have success, the player pool they have to choose from everything will have to click eventually. But, I'm not all that familiar with the English side and they def need a better manager to fit the pieces they do have together.

Yup. He's supposedly after Kolo too.

Poor Kolo.

Hail.

Well, I'd take him on a one year but he's another where you just know that cliff is somewhere out there.

Hopefully Gomez is fit to replace him in the Cup side as a CB.

I still think we're in the market for one more, but we have a solid four with Matip, Lovren, Sakho (pending another wait obviously), and Gomez.

I think Ross Barkley for Wayne Rooney and Jamie Vardy for Harry Kane and England win that going away.  Even with Sterling in the 11.

33m pounds (I don't know how to do that funny symbol) isn't really all that much for a 22 y.o who just was involved in 26 goals in 32 appearances for his club in Ligue 1.  Plus Chelsea have a pretty good track record with ligue 1 players...Hazard and Didier Drogba come to mind.

I'll be the first to admit I don't know much about him.  But a young striker with lots of potential who has done all he can in a lesser league?  I'll take a flyer, even if it means paying a bit more.  And if it means we aren't in for Lukaku any more, I'm DEFINITELY all for it.

Hopefully teams are priced out and we keep Lukaku, dont want to go looking for another forward and he has performed well for us since we brought him in.

With the prices players are going for these days, no way Lukaku was every leaving for 30 million like Arsenal was rumored to be offering.

16 goals on loan with us, 20 his first year, and 25 last year. If he leaves we are getting a lot of cash with those goals and the huge amount of money hitting the EPL this year with the TV contracts.

Which means everyone's prices go up.

Be careful what you wish for.  I'm sure Koeman will spend it well... Martinez no.  Rodgers...

For sure, 100 million doesnt go as far as it used to. Which is one of the reasons I would prefer to keep Lukaku.

Proud of the Irish fans. Thats how you act in another country, in someone elses city. Stark contrast with the fans going out and fighting, causing trouble.

On a related note, its also really sad that a group of fans acting civilly in another country, having fun, and not causing trouble, results in an award.

Marseille finished 13th with a 10W-18D-10L in a belowaverage one team championship. Batshuayi has good potential but he's selfish and not strong mentally. Drogba was better when he left, we will see if he can move on to the next level.
