btfoom
To be fair, Balotelli has done nothing to give any indication that he is a reformed character. Nothing at all. Milan was his team. Boyhood fan, who's dream was to play for Milan. Even that couldn't motivate him enough after 12 months. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/why-are-ac-milan-willing-to-let-balotelli-leave-for-16m-9685630.html Yes, he scored 14 goals in 30 matches, but only 1 in 10 Serie A matches against the top 5 (Juve, Roma, Napoli, Fiorentina, Inter). I don't see how scoring 13 goals vs bottom sides as a 'good year'.
LVSkinz
yeah it's not like there's ever two sides to a story..... I highly doubt it's as simple as they wanted him out. He's been unhappy for awhile. Personally I don't think he liked James coming and seemly taking his spot. I'm sure he believes he deserves to be a starter with a major contract. I'm sure part of it was Di Maria wanted to get a big contract like the others from what he's done. He loved playing there and left it all out on the pitch on every game. He's the reason they won the CL final but he was no longer a sexy name so he got discarded. No reason whatsoever to bring someone in to take his position if this club was ran the right way. Gibbs Hog Heaven
Yes, he scored 14 goals in 30 matches, but only 1 in 10 Serie A matches against the top 5 (Juve, Roma, Napoli, Fiorentina, Inter). I don't see how scoring 13 goals vs bottom sides as a 'good year'. Y'all did watch Milan last year right? ..... Right? They where shockingly poor. Up until Seedorf arriving half way in, they were a serious bet for relegation. Alegri had totally lost the dressing room and they were a team in disarray. Even under Seedoef most games they struggled to create more than a couple of chances a game. A return of 14 goals in 30 games when he was oft the only attacking player left to fend for himself was a great return. Put him in the Liverpool side las year with the chances we created and he's up there with Sturridge and Suarez goals wise. To say he didn't have a good year for Milan last term all things considered is harsh to say the least. World class talent (dispute that as much as you want but when he does come to play he's virtually unplayable) for £ 16 million. Bargain buy doesn't begin to cover it. Hail. Gibbs Hog Heaven
I don't know what rock bottom is, but losing to a club from Football League One and you're a Premiere League club this has to be rock bottom....SMH Also, MK Dons finished 10th last season in League One. Let that sink in United fans....10th.... I feel for yer man. That wasn't just an upset. That was a total humiliation. And it will only get worse before it gets better. The similarities between Utd and their fall from grace and Liverpool's when our cycle ended abruptly as yours now has is eerie. Hail.
FrFan
"Unfortunately I have to leave, it was never my intention. As anyone who works, I still want to improve. After la Decima I went to the World Cup with the hope of getting a sign from the management. That has never happened, lot of lies have been told, they always wanted to blame me because I was the one who wanted to leave, but it did not happen that way. Unfortunately, I am not compliant to the football views of some people. All I asked was to be treated fairly. There are several things that I took into account, not just my salary. Hopefully find them at Manchester United, one of the biggest clubs in the world, with whom I hope to make history, "said di Maria Surprinsigly he didn't mention the rumor saying he got mad because Real forced Sabella to bench him during the final of the WC. As for Bale, a talented player but not worth his insane transfer fee. Edited August 27, 2014 by FrFan

Elessar78
I'm not optimistic about today against Besiktas. Our playmaker is out, our pivot is out, top-scorer is out. I had Giroud pegged for a quiet 30/10 season this year.

Elessar78
Yeah, I won't be able to watch it until late tonight. So I'm going on "silent" for the rest of the afternoon. Arsene does a lot of things right, but over the years his "blind spots" have become clearer for me. Up until this year, he seemed to refuse to believe there was a chronic injury problem. He also seems to have one for depth. I won't be revisionist, since I felt Sanogo looked decent enough in his outings last year and over the summer. But right after we signed Sanchez, I was already worried about our depth on defense. It wasn't even just depth, it was straight up bodies—to me, we didn't have enough. Not every club can pull Aguero, Negredo, Jovetic off the bench. It's just not realistic for all but a handful of clubs. But with the way Arsene's spending—he's not even remotely balancing the in/out (currently -£42M)—maybe in the winter or next summer we'll add more pieces. He just can't be forced to buy (annoyingly). But our cross-town rivals offer a nice cautionary tale of spending money to simply spend money and come away with 100M pounds of crap, because you had to do all your spending at once. Gibbs Hog Heaven
..... As for Bale, a talented player but not worth his insane transfer fee. He does realise he would'nt of fetched anything like that fee if Utd hadn't been desperate and Madrid hadn't taken full advantage right? Hypocrit. He'll fit right in. Hail. Gibbs Hog Heaven
Wonder why people take cup football so lightly. It's the Utd way. Mickey Mouse cup unless they have a chance of winning it like against Wigan the last time then it's suddenly a major trophy again. See above on Di Maria. He'll fit right in. Hail. JoeWolf990
No he didn't and he's far less of a headache than he's ever been. But keep consoling yourself with that. We're VERY happy with him thank you very much. Hail. you trolling? he scored like 10 of his 14 goals on penalties last year. He was bad. (and I think he is a great talent who could be a great signing) And Balotelli definitely is a headache. Lets not beat around the bush here. Then Balo was terrible in Brazil and the team pulled out. (dont believe it tbh but he isnt 100% reliable) I'm not optimistic about today against Besiktas. Our playmaker is out, our pivot is out, top-scorer is out. I had Giroud pegged for a quiet 30/10 season this year. Ozil isnt injured. We will beat Bestikas by 2 goals today. Why would you post that when you know It'd be countered with actual facts? 3 of his 14 Serie A goals and 1 of his 3 Champions Lge. goals were spot kicks. Do you wake up in the morning and have to reaffirm that "I'm going to be an outright **** today." Or is it just who you naturally are? You support the same team I do and you know which playmaker I'm referring to. Because Ramsey never generates any goal scoring opportunities for us? We have several playmakers, Santi, Ozil, but obviously they're not out. Your optimism is fine, but we're a weakened side that's out of sync at the moment. If the Norwich and Stokes of the world can sneak a goal on us, so can these Turks.

Gibbs Hog Heaven
Said it on here as soon as the draw was made that Besiktas was a mighty tricky tie for Arsenal I wouldn't like to predict. From what I read you got away with it in Istanbul (NEVER a place you want to go. Let alone early season when fitness isn't to the max and you're just finding your feet again); but you didn't score. This now leaves tonight perilously balanced. They score, and panic sets in. With all the injuries to key players, if I'm Bilic I'm really fancying my chances of an upset. Of course Joe jumped all over it and informed me Arsenal would have zero problem this tie (worst result they could possibly get was a score draw away wasn't it?); so what would a fan of England's premier European competition team know?
