Sticksboi05
Didn't we already beat you guys once? I think it was in the late 18th century.... Forget that. We beat them in the 1950 World Cup which is one of the biggest upsets in sports history that sadly nobody knows about.

I've always like the call."There are some people out on the pitch, they think it's all over!"
Gibbs Hog Heaven
Forget that. We beat them in the 1950 World Cup which is one of the biggest upsets in sports history that sadly nobody knows about. What makes that even more ironic is the fact that prior to the 1950 tournament, the arrogance of the English had them refusing to take part with "all these foreigners in a game we invented"; then when they finally did, they get turned over by an amateur US team. Hail.

A little like another country with basketball and baseball.
MartinC
Hasnt England been doing poorly in their warm up matches leading up to this match? Not really. We have been chopping and changing playing some of the squad players to help determine the last few spots in the squad coming over. But we have won all the lead up games reasonably comfortably without ever really playing well over a full game. The worry for us is so much depends on Wayne Rooney - he is the only truly world class forward we have. The other forwards we have are decent players but not really international quality let alone world class.

And Crouch belongs in the circus.

Stew
Is Michael Owen playing?
UK_HOG
Is Michael Owen playing? Owen is always getting injured. He was only a bit part player at Man Utd before another injury ended his season. Owen is finished at international level.
Gibbs Hog Heaven
Still as bullish after the opener OP? By no means the end of the World, but there's a WHOLE lota' room for improvement if their to do anything against the better nations. Hail.
Hubbs
Is it true the English have had cameras installed in their rooms so the coach can ensure they don't engage in stamina sapping behavior with women during the world cup? Gotta be a rumor. We all know how "stamina-sapping" English sex ever gets: <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFi2GWrliDA&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFi2GWrliDA&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
McD5
Love Steven Gerrard. But no, England always chokes. Gerrard always comes up huge. Rooney? Not so much.
