McShay's First 2010 Mock Draft

If you are going to draft a QB in the top of the first round, you are better off going with a guy who has started at least three seasons in college. This is especially true if you plan on him playing him right away. They are usually better prepared and you have a larger body of work to judge them on. It is good for the scouts that Locker is staying for another season. Missing most of the 2008 season set him back.

In what way exactly does Bradford remind you of Russell? They are nothing alike as prospects. If you want someone more like Russell, look at Ryan Mallett. Both of those guys are basically huge arms with little else in their favor.

Bradford is poised, super accurate, has a fast release, and was incredibly productive. Bradford would have been the first overall pick last year. To get him with the 6th pick would represent good value.

Bradford is accurate on short routes. IMHO, the guy doesn't have an NFL arm to go deep. With the injuries, I wouldn't risk pick #6 on him.

If we are going to draft a QB, lets get one that is tall, thin, strong armed, accurate, with great football IQ.

We maybe able to pick someone up in the lower rounds.

drew brees had the same shoulder issue and recovered fine Adrian peterson was considered injury prone look at him

That is true about Brees. But we're talking about a guy who was traded for a second round pick so if he doesn't work out it would suck, but not be a huge setback. With Bradford we're talking about a #6 overall pick as well as a huge monetary investment. If he busts or ends up being no major upgrade to what we have now, that would be a major setback.
