KDawg
The original thread can be found here: http://extremeskins.com/showthread.php?t=307499 As usual, if I left someone off that you feel is deserving, please don't be afraid to vote for "other" and leave a post in this thread about who you want to vote for. Another note: Players can make the team at more than one position. We will end this thing with 53 DIFFERENT players on the roster, so if a player makes it for two positions (or more) we will have a poll based on the top vote getters to re-vote on and see who gets the "wild card" spots. KDawg
Wow. 17 choices. I was stuck for my three choices between Ken Houston, Sean Taylor, Brig Owens, Paul Krause and Mark Murphy. I went with Houston as my first choice, Sean Taylor as my second (It pays that he's my favorite all-time Redskin and a guy that I actually saw play) and Brig Owens as my third. Krause being a hall of famer was tough to pass, but he spent 12 years with Minnesota. Murphy had hard to pass statistics as well.
KDawg
Sean Taylor, Ken Houston and Other: Sammy Baugh for me. I have Sammy on my CB list. Was he more of a safety? Oh well. He can and should be voted for here as an other vote if that's the case anyways. Other votes: Sammy Baugh,
Destructis
Sean Taylor, Ken Houston, and Brig Owens. We have had some really good safety's over the years.
Stadium-Armory
KDawg - suggestion. If you're finding people choosing the wrong number of players, put your desired number of choices in the thread title. For example: "53 Man Roster: Safety. Choose three". Going Commando
What an excellent list. Paul Krause and Kenny Houston have to make it although I think Krause might have been a CB early on and he played most of his year for the Vikings. What he did for us early on was incredible though. Nobody had a better beginning to their career. Then I picked Sean Taylor because of what he accomplished in such a short time, but more importantly, what might have been with him. Destructis
The cornerback list is going to be heavily debated, I already see this one coming. Green is definitely going to be one, but the others will create some fireworks.
scruffylookin
This one is easy. It would be easy to go with Murphy and Peters (the tandem of my youth) or to recognize Sean Taylor (who undoubtly would make my list if not for his murder) but I have to go with Paul Krause, Ken Houston and Brig Owens. Paul Krause, even in only 4 seasons (same as Sean) did so much more and was a playmaker who went on to a HOF career with Minnesota. Ken Houston is a Hall of Famer with one of the signature plays in Redskins history. Brig Owens was his secondary partner and was a playmaker. Not too hard. Gibbs Hog Heaven
#21 and Houston where givens for me, even though we will sadly never know just how great the former may or may not of become. The last not so much. I plumped for Paul Krause. Even given the fact he spent the bulk of his career in the frozen North, he still put up some outstanding numbers in his short time in the B&G. Hail. nonniey
You should have listed Sammy Baugh. He'd definately be in the top 3 if you had.
KDawg
You should have nominated him... as a safety... he would have been in the top 3 if you had. He's going in with corners because I couldn't find what DB position he played.
GhostofSparta
Taylor, Houston, and Krause for me. I kinda saw ST running away with this one. His is an emotional choice, it certainly clouded my judgement a little toward him. But he was coming along nicely before the tragedy. Kenny Houston is always mentioned with the all-time greats on this team. The last spot was a toss up for me, but I had to go Krause, if only to wish he had spent his entire career here. Gator Bait
The stats say that Sean Taylor had 1fumble recovery and 1 TD. I'm pretty sure he had fumble recoveries for TDs in back to back games back in 2005. I believe it was against Philly and Tampa Bay (playoffs) do playoff stats not count?
