Hubbs
My memory sucks. I'm not saying you did, but I seem to recall you demanding questions be answered. I seem to recall you calling for an independent investigation. I could be wrong. That doesn't necessarily mean he's a Truther - hell, I think the Truthers are as loony as anyone else, but there are still some questions that weren't really answered. Odds are that they've been ignored for national security reasons, but, say, 15 years down the road, it'd be kinda nice to see the beans spilt. skinfan133
That shouldn't stop you from fact checking to see if you're wrong, which is what's wrong today. The Right-wingnuts who ran with this as if it were true latched onto it as if it were gospel because it was what they wanted to hear, only to find out that they were dupped into revealing just how ravenous they really are for anything to dig up on the President that they would present this crap without making sure if it was even true. WTG gents. I could cite the Bush years to play Devil's advocate, but we'd just go in circles...
mardi gras skin
Can't we put these people on a ship and send them to a deserted island or something? Or just take away their right to vote. My racist father-in-law had no business voting in the election. He was on board with every Obama smear. It made my stomach church knowing that he and I were pulling the same lever. But it still brings a smile to my face when I remember that Obama is his president.
Burgold
About that - how come all that is sealed/covered up too? I would have liked to read some of his articles. That's not sealed. Go to a law library or heck a good college one will sufice. Go to the archives and read the HLR during the years where he was President of it. This is one of those stories where I think it would benefit our conservative posters to simply admit that a bad mistake was made and that it shouldn't happen. Considering that this story made it all the way up to mainstream reporting (and yes, on a pure numbers basis Rush is mainstream folks) and he is delivering "news" and information. Responsibility ought to be taken when something is gotten wrong. Even Rush himself on this one seems to have attempted a retraction. Good for him. Bad for many of the posters in this thread who can't even rise to Rush's standard of integrity.
Smoot Point Really
Ok, I went to Limbaugh's transcript to read myself... It isn't so bad. He fell for it because people he trusts fell for it, then everyone seems to have acknowledged the hoax since. Limbaugh acknowledges it a few segments later. The part about "we know it's true" is in reference to his own critics. He does play Obama's really stupid statement on the Supreme Court and redistributive change, but that is expected... Hell, every lib was doing this in the Limbaugh thread last week. Whatever... I don't really listen to talk radio and reading the transcript was painful enough... I just had to find out for myself if it was a big deal or just our liberal support group needing to reassure each other in the most meaningless things. Notice how there isn't anything positive to talk about? No successes in a year since the election? You guys need each other more and more every day. Smoot Point Really
BTW, where is the thesis? I bet we'll find out he never even wrote one... We saw Bob McDonnell's... I wonder why the post would be more interested in a Governor's thesis than a President's....
The 12th Commandment
Sounds Familiar......Dan Rather continues to stand by the story, and in subsequent interviews has articulated that he believes that the documents have never conclusively been proven to be forgeries — and that even if the documents are false, that the underlying story is true. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killian_documents_controversy And the point is he got fired for screwing up. Now he works on an obscure channel for Mark Cuban. Doesn't get any more "wilderness" than that.

AsburySkinsFan
I guess someone should post some REAL papers from Obama?Oh SNAP....Obama doesn't want us to see them (hiding from Fox...hiding from the public...ect) OP FAIL Translation: Hmmm, I can't very well defend Rush on this one, but I can't find it in me to criticize him either....how can I turn this against Obama...oh I know. And like 99% would be qualified to understand his thesis anyways. Instead what would happen is a few lines would get yanked and smeared across the intertubes by a few hacks pounding away on their keyboards doing their impression of the million monkeys on a million keyboards for a million years trying to produce Shakespeare. War Paint
When you want to believe something bad enough, it no longer matters whether or not it is true. Exactly. Obama supporters still want to believe Obama represents hope and change, when in fact, he is just extending Bush's policies and is controlled by the same Wall Street puppet masters. Boy, the right sure is happy with all this lack of change, in pay to Wall Street, health care, change to socialism/communism, lack of citizenship, energy policy, etc. They talk about how happy they are with the status quo every day! Even when it's not real (like the thread topic). Talk about cake and eating it too.

War Paint
Seriously? This is honestly the best you can come up with? No, I can come up with Obama extending the wars, when he campaigned to be anti-war. I can come up with Obama campaigning as being against the Patriot Act, only to extend it. I can come up with Obama taking Bush's bailout and extending it. I can come up with both Bush and Obama being taken care of by Goldman Sachs. But go ahead and believe your hope and change and be a good little sheep.

I'd like to remind you that this thread is about Rush Limbaugh's zeal to report and comment on a lie, and then after finding out it was a lie, deciding he thinks it's true anyway. Let's keep on point, shall we? It's really not that hard. First, you need to realize that Rush made a mistake. I know, I know, for some folks it's hard to believe, but it has happened. It is best to accept that. And then you must also realize that Obama had no part in said mistake, other than his name being used by someone who wrote a hoax paper. Perhaps once you allow yourself to understand the conversation, you can join in with comments and thoughts that actually pertain to the issue that is being discussed. ~Bang
AsburySkinsFan
That's fine Asbury....but did you show your fairness in the Rush thread last week and condemn those who were posting false quotes about Rush? If you mean the "racism" quotes from Rush, no I didn't because I cannot confirm one way or another the validity of those quotes, he may well have said and meant each one of them, then again he may not have, I don't know so I stayed out of it. Now, are you willing to criticize Rush and the others for being lazy as they ran a story that they didn't bother to fact check and are now trying to defend by saying "Well the blog might have been fake, but we know its how Obama thinks so its still true"? Yeah, I can easily say if Rush and other pundits jumped on false info on Obama and reported it, then they should apologize for the mistake and move on. Unfortunately, as proven in the Rush thread of made up quotes, people like yourself can't do the same.

Well hello there little Asbury helper......Here are two quotes from Asbury from the Rush thread. A thread bashing Rush Limbaugh's latent racism isn't that a lot like shooting Rush Limbaugh in a barrel, I mean really its just not sporting. The reason that Rush won't be allowed to buy the Rams is because he is a polarizing figure like few others in this world and in a day when the NFL is very concerned about its image they are not going to allow a guy who makes a living out of pissing people off to buy one of the 32 teams in the league. It simply won't happen.Rush will play that he is the victim, but the only thing he is a victim of is the monster that he created. http://www.extremeskins.com/showthread.php?t=304530&page=
