Dirk Diggler
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/10/20/jets-looking-for-a-defensive-tackle/ Would love to get a 5th or 6th rd pick.
CRobi21
I'd definately take that...Especially with the way Golston performed last week. Just have to stay healthy ourselves..
addicted
Stick it to them and offer him for a 4th, screw the Jets.

thecardiacrll
The jets have no draft picks they traded them all for sanchez and braylon...lol
Laxpunk2006
We're prety solid at DT so anything we could get would be great.
Hail Gibbs
Yes please. Do it. I had hope for Monty, but if he wants out then I would gladly take a 5th.
daveakl
How about this: Jets gets Monty, and Thomas Cincy gets Moss Redskins get cincy's 3rd and Jets 3rd
IbleedBnG83
Not sure how much we can get for a guy that has had a banged up knee all season and was a late round pick. Probably a 6th, maaaaaybe a 5th at best. Even then, nothing to be that excited about. We still need a 4th DT.
crownking
Why not try to convert him to an offensive tackle?
Metskins
Why would any team want to give up any draft pick for a guy that hasn't been healthy enough to get on the field all season. If this was the Redskins and they traded a 5th or 6th rounder for a marginal offensive tackle that had been injured all season, we'd all be screaming. Gotta think there's better options out there for the Jets.
MWCREDSKINS
How about for Kellen Clemens? It's obvious he has no future in New York and might be worth a look
bird_1972
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/10/20/jets-looking-for-a-defensive-tackle/Would love to get a 5th or 6th rd pick. Good idea. We need to start trading away as many players off of this squad as we can not named Moss, Haynesworth, Orakpo, Jarmon, and Fletcher.
Leonard Washington
isn't monty injuried?
ThePreciating
Monty could actually play 3-4 NT I bet. The guy is pretty huge, and good at stuffing the run. I just don't know if he'd draw double teams the way Jenkins would. Still, I don't think the Jets will find a guy like that. If they want an NT on the cheap, Monty would be a great value for them. mnb123
Wasn't he a UFA and didn't get any interest? Well, if you can do it, surewhynot
TheGoodBits
We should trade as many players as we can, stockpile as many picks as we can.
lovetoaster
do it... monty has been a bust here anyway Ummm, OK...a fifth-round pick that started 21 games and played quite well at times for us over the last two years is a bust. I am not sure what you expect out of fifth-round picks. With that being said, I do not think we can realistically get much for him. He is banged up and has not played at all this year. I would say a sixth is about all we would get. He has a lot of talent and potential, but he has not showed it on the field this year.
lovetoaster
Wasn't he a UFA and didn't get any interest?Well, if you can do it, surewhynot He was a restricted free agent. It would have cost a team a fifth-rounder to get him this offseason, and nobody bit. He has not exactly added to his value this year, although there are a few teams that really need a DT. TheTotalPackage
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/10/20/jets-looking-for-a-defensive-tackle/Would love to get a 5th or 6th rd pick. Shame on you. you know full well that Vinny would never think to execute such a brilliant personnel move. i.e. another team has a need at a position where we have a surplus....we need draft picks.....(doesn't put two and two together)

WhoRUSupposed2Be
But will it happen especially for a struggling team such as ourselves. The Jets may just laugh at Vinny for even wasting their time with the mention of Monty and hang the phone up. I know I would!
