The Redskins come into the season where the stakes and hopes are high. After rattling off wins at Philly and Dallas en-route to a 6-2 start the Redskins managed to flip those numbers (2-6) in the second half of the season, due to a much maligned offensive line and poor play at quarterback. The starting offensive line has looked more like the 6-2 Redskins from the first half during quarterback Jason Campbell's 30+ preseason drop backs against some of the league's top defenses (Ravens, Steelers and Patriots). If the o-line can stay health and give Campbell proper time to get the ball out the sky is the limit for the offense and their suddenly deep receiving corps.

On the other side of the ball the Redskins look to improve from last year's tremendous defense that finished fourth overall in the NFL. With the addition of Albert Haynesworth, Brian Orakpo and DeAngelo Hall (for a full season at least) the Redskins could suddenly find themselves with the best defense in the highly competitive NFC (B)East if not the NFL.

With all of the improvements on both sides of the ball it doesn't look like the experts are going to give the Skins any love. They will have to earn that love and week one against the Giants would be a great way to start.

I don't really expect any experts to pick us against the Giants. Why would they in week 1, when the Giants are coming off a playoff season, which was coming off a Superbowl winning season.

In week 1, there are going to be very few upsets chosen because 99% of picks are going to be based on how the teams performed last season.

Probably the redskins hardest game on the schedule. winning this game can really give this team the edge it needs for the rest of the season. Even if they lose just seeing how they fair against the giants is a great barometer for us to see if the redskins have improved. Can't wait for the game to start

sounds about right ...

this team is full of questions, nothing the skins got is in stone.

giants will run it and run it well ...IN STONE

eli will be steady, nothing great ... IN STONE

coughlin will have has team playing hard ... IN STONE

giants D-line will get pressure and lots of it ... IN STONE.

JC has never beat the giants and the skins as a whole stink against them ... IN STONE.

Nobody in their right mind will pick the skins, because we have way too many questions.

hopefully we will answer a few and we beat the tar out of these mothers.

If you look at the ESPN picks, all the games are 8-2 or higher except eagles/panthers... and that game is 7-3 in favor of the eagles.

Everything is completely based off of last year. These picks won't have any merit until week 2, and even then, they still won't have merit....

Yeah I noticed that too. Not many people willing to go out on a limb I guess.
