Dan T.
What makes an ordinary chicken wing extraordinary? Mumbo sauce. What's the best thing to stir in your tartar sauce to slather over your Horace and Dickey fried fish? Mumbo sauce. What adds a little kick to your french fries? Mumbo sauce. What punches up that fried rice? Mumbo sauce. What stains your styro carry-out container with red-orange goodness? Mumbo sauce. The Colonel doesn't know squat about finger-licking good. Is mumbo sauce unique to DC, or does it exist elsewhere?

The Brave Little Toaster Oven
Mumbo Sauce is in my top 5 of what i miss most about not being in the area anymorei wish i knew a place that sold it in bulk Why not just make it? 1 cup ketchup 1 cup sugar 1 tablespoon Hungarian paprika 3 tablespoons hot sauce 3 tablespoons water 4 tablespoons white vinegar 1) In a mixing bowl combine all ingredients. Mix well. 2)Pour into pot. 3)Bring to boil using low heat. Stirring constantly. 4)Let cool or serve hot. 5)To enhance the flavor of the sauce, just add more of the above ingredients. DO NOT USE SALT, because it will destroy the sweetness of the sauce I think that's right. :whoknows:
haithman
No sauce exists that is better than A1. Fact

The Brave Little Toaster Oven
never heard of it. Next time you are at a Skins game, stop off at Golden Skillet! I get the Big Skillet (chicken sandwich) and smother it in Mambo sauce  6002 Marlboro Pike, District Heights, MD 7301 Marlboro Pike, Forestville, MD They are on the same road, 5 mins from each other. My grandfather grew up a couple mins away from the original KFC in Kentucky and he swears by Golden Skillet Everything is cooked in peanut oil...including the french fries. Very very very good, this I promise you.
jroc96
never heard of it. You can get it in almost any DC or PgC carry-out. I get it on my fries instead of ketchup:)

Commander PK
A few years back, my buddy and I were renting a Townhouse together, used to invite his bowling buddy ( who I'll call "Fred" ) over for Pay Per Views and Skins games. We would order from the local Chinese restaurant most of the time, and EVERY time he would get the same thing. 20 Chicken Wings with MUMBO sauce, lol. I would watch this guy suck the bone marrow right out of the wings, and just laugh. I was like, damn that must be some good sauce, lol.
Dan T.
Funny how some people call mambo sauce "mumbo" sauce. "Mumbo sase" is hand-written on scotch tape on the side of the squirt bottle on the counter at the Chinese/Soul Food carryout. That is as official as it gets. CrypticVillain
"Mumbo sase" lol, that is funny. Mumbo/Mambo sauce is the beez-neez. But Honey Mustard BBQ sauce is liquid crack.

MumboSauce
Mambo sauce awee man..love the stuff....gotta go to DC or PG county. Wings and fries...you'll see Chinese food carry outs trying to have it now and they do wings with fried rice instead of crinkle cut fries...they know what folks want...but you'll see it by all kinds of names now..and a lot of it isn't authentic... sometimes its too sweet like sweet n sour sauce..or it's too runny. I see it called Mumbo, Mumble, Marbo..I've seen it all it's hilarious.
