China Posted June 5, 2009 Share Posted June 5, 2009 It's National Doughnut Day IUPUI assistant professor isn't one to glaze over subject It’s National Doughnut Day, our chance to pause and reflect on the impact of those doughy delights — or at least stop by a Dunkin’ Donuts or Krispy Kreme to accept their offer of a free doughnut today. But no one may understand the true importance of today more than Paul Mullins, associate professor and chairman of the department of anthropology at IUPUI. He wrote “Glazed America: A History of the Doughnut,” and was invited to judge the finalists in Dunkin’ Donuts’ contest to create a new doughnut (winner was announced today at http://www.dunkindonuts.com/Donut/). The one was only because i had never had a Krispy Kreme before and like 50 people were like "OMG KRISPY KREME ARE THE BEST THINGS EVER YOU HAVE TO HAVE ONE NOW OR WE WILL ALL DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
