KDawg
Yeah, I agree about Jason Smith but he'll be looong gone by #13. I think once Orakpo is gone (and you're right - it'll be early) any DE worth taking at #13 would probably be a hybrid DE/LB that can cover fairly well and put his hand down on 3rd downs and get after the QB.I'd be happy with a OLB too, don't get me wrong. I'm just dying for a young nasty kid that along with Haynesworth and co. can make anyone named Manning/Romo sits to pee/McNabb's life a living hell for several years to come. :evilg: Tough to make all of their lives hard when two of them won't be playing in the NFC East after their teams tank this year. (Wishful thinking/homeriffic thinking, hah!)

Dick Edds
Renaldo Wynn is a top notch individual, and will certainly take on the leadership role again for this defense. I think rotating at end is where he's best at right now- keep Wynn fresh and doing what he does best- stop the run. Chris Wilson is going to be the situational pass-rushing specialist, so he'll be at left end most of the time in passing situations. I also have a feeling that Blache could line up Haynesworth at end a couple times to throw the other team off balance, which would leave Griffin and probably Montgomery at the tackle spots. It may not look like we have depth there, but we have some, and we have plenty of other options with versatile players. I am down with this same line of thinking. ACarter is the only guaranteed starter at DE ... Wynn, Daniels (if he signs), Wilson, RJackson, BUzbee, Draft pick, etc. can all compete for the 4 or 5 DE spots in training camp. Versatility is also a + when using a rotational lineup and the depth should help get through the season. We've seen the Eagles do this for years and the Giants as of recently (rotate DL'man like its going out of style). We need run toppers and fresh legs, that's how we'll allow our DE's and LB's to get to the QB. We will get to the QB now that AH will command the double team, and with a healthy rotation of Griff, Monty, Gohlston we should be pretty stout (and deep) as long as we stay relatively healthy. I think we will have enough bodies to get through camp and maybe one of the younger guys will emerge. We can still go DE in the draft ... and if we are stuck at #13 we will take BPA x's Need (OL, LB, DB ... even DT if Raji fell). Can't wait to see how it all unfolds and what draft day surprises are ahead. Hail.
ThomasTomasz
I like the move as well. He's not going to get tons and tons of numbers, but he'll plug a hole. I'm okay with that for now. He'll do a good job plugging it too. Welcome back, Mr. Wynn. Hated seeing you in that other uniform. Exactly. We need someone who can stop the run at LDE. That is Renaldo Wynn right now. On passing downs, we can bring in Chris Wilson, who we have been grooming for this role for some time. Or, as I stated earlier, we have some versatility with Haynesworth, who could throw things off by lining up at end in some packages, with Griffin and Montgomery inside. It's not the big signing that some were hoping for. It's not a high-profile draft selection. But, Wynn fits what we are missing- a run stopper at LDE- and we have other players who are versatile that can be the pass rusher from that spot. Skinz248
I guess, If we sign Daniels too I'll be ok with them sharing duties throughout the year. I almost hope we take OL in the second and third if possible. Kinda wish we held on to Evans so that we could focus on DE next year.. I think PD and RW can man the spot for this year. I don't mind the move. RW was/is a classy individual. He is now a Redskin again and I will root for every player we put out on the field. Good luck RW!! DCDiesel44
He's certainly not a quick fix or anything but he'll add depth and veteran leadership to our d-line. I don't disagree with this as long as the price is right...
pjfootballer
I like Reynaldo, but geez, prop up another old geezer who can't rush the passer. I like his run defense, but who gets to the QB on the edge?

Wynn is hardly the answer this year, let alone for the future. There's also that whole LB thing.
MumboSauce
I like Rdub as a man, good guy, great in the community/charity etc. But I'm not sure what he gives this team at this point. Since he's back though, welcome back and here's to hoping AH helps you create more pressure.

turbodiesel#44
There's also that whole LB thing. The way the roster looks right now, we have some young talent with a little potential at LB. We have nobody for OL depth. Nobody. And some of our starters aren't too solid either.
lostniraq04
I agree O-line is the biggest need alot of teams make a good run in the playoffs with subpar defenses (which our wont be) ie. the colts. But only the ravens made it with no offense

THE HAMMER'IN HOG
Moves like this really makes you question what direction this team is going, are we so bad at evaluating the draft we can't find a young player to fill Renaldo Wynn's shoes? Come on! Why we are getting older instead of younger is beyond me. This is much like the Taylor trade last year without the price tag, it really makes no sense considering the state of the team, what can we do with wynn that we couldn't do without?:whoknows::gus:

ChiefPowhatan17
Interesting signing this early, maybe they should've waited till after the draft to see if we still need him. hey, while we are signing old guys, lets get Lemar Marshall and Arrington back.
