ljs
Was watching some NFL Total Access and Irvin was talking about his induction to the HOF last year. He said Green was the first one who called, him. So quick in fact, that he thought Darrell had already dialed the numbers before his name was called. Irvin went on to say how great of friends he is with Green. (j/k...sorta) I had no idea. RenegadeTK
that's cool i guess... but i am a little disappointed. the same way i was when i heard that roy williams was friends with sean taylor. i guess it just goes to show that after battle, you can still respect/befriend your opponent/enemy. BuddyLeeGhostHunter
Doesn't surprise me. They played against each other for years.
ljs
Yeah, I know a lot of players are friends, even on opposing teams. I mean, look at Santana..his lil bro plays for a rival. I think it's just that initial hate for the cow****s and Irvin that it took me by a bit of surprise.

veteranskinsfan
Michael Irvin is an idiot-always has been and always will be. He did not last long on ESPN. He is always an accident waiting to happen. I saw the NFL Network segment tonight too. Good stuff on Art Monk. Art Monk has class and Irvin has no class.
Thinking Skins
I don't buy it one bit!You cant believe anything a crack head says! Yeah, I'm with you on that one. You can never trust a crackhead. Just look at New Jack City and what happened to Pookie.
Blondie
Lots of these guys are friends......who are on different teams. They attend functions OUTSIDE of the playing field, become friends, and that friendship continues. Lots of guys knew each other from college, and that friendship continued even though on opposing teams. Many fans think like a fan of a team. NO one can like a person on another team. Remember.........these guys are not fans of a team. They work for that team. They have lives outside of the football field..........and make friends with other players. As far as Irvin and the crackhead comments.......yes.....he did what he did. But he was a WR that gave lots of teams........including the Skins.......all they could handle. Darrell........as a premier CB.....gave the man props for his achievements.
MEANDWARF
Doesn't manner anymore unless you are Diron Talbert and Rogar Staubach. If those 2 guys become friends then the end times is near.
CBass1724
I enjoy Irvin when he is on TV. He makes me laugh. It makes sense that he is friends with DG because they played against each other for years. I'm sure DG tried to help Irvin in times of need offering advice. It's just the way he is. 21KO
I think he called him "Deion" Green at first - had a cranky baby in my arms so I might have misheard, but it made my head snap around - the "Deion", not the cranky baby. Anyone else catch that?
dizzinator53
He meant Darnell Green... his crack dealer.

santana_4_prez
I actually respect Irvin. He isn't perfect, but I think he's a pretty good person (even though he had a drug problem). He was very well-respected by his teammates. His HOF speech seemed pretty legit and heartfelt to me.
RFK Lives
I like him better now that he is not playing but couldn't help but hate him with that aggresive pushing off. He did have one of my favorite quotes ever while he was on ESPN: Irvin: "Bill Parcells bought the groceries...Bill Parcells cooked the dinner...this is a bad football meal." corrupt3d
You gotta respect Irvin for what he was on the field...remember, Dexter Manley wasn't perfect either. But I'm surprised really that the two are friends. I mean, Gil and Lebron are really close friends...it just shows theres a lot of comraderie in the sport - and even in our division. Irvin and Green are friends...whereas Joey Porter and Willie Anderson (I think it was Anderson) fought at a casino.
No Excuses
Gary Clark was a better receiver than Michael Irvin. **** that Cowboy piece of ****. He acted like a scumbag each and everytime he played us. He's probably my least favorite player of all time.

wshngtn1
I don't think it's a shock because of who they played for...it's more of a shock because they seem like they are two totally different people. One is a first class, stand up citizen while the other is...well, Michael Irvin.

ECU-ALUM
I didn't care for the theatrics and pushing off that Irvin did...but there is no doubt the man could flat-out play...and I don't give a damn if he did play for Dallas to have his playing days end on a stretcher in Philly (with the fans applauding that fact)...that ain't cool.
