tiger187126
he sounds a lot like a smoot kind of guy. little small, but plays with a chip on his shoulder. let's hope he doesn't break out that torpedo tackle that smoot used to do all the time. rdavis2005
http://condraft.com/profile.php?id=1915 Overview The 2005 Junior College transfer immediately came on and started 26 games for the Sun Devils. He racked up all kinds of accolades including Honorable Mention All Pac-10 in 2006 and 2nd Team All Pac-10 in 2007. In Junior College, he won the 2004 National Championship with College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, California. Strengths Justin is very durable and experienced for a Juco transfer. You would be hard pressed to find many other Juco transfers with 26 starts under their belt. He is one of the most physical and fundamental tackling corners I have seen coming out of college in a few years. He tackles like Champ Bailey, putting a stop to outside runs and and screen looks. Very fast straight line speed, was an All-State runner in high school in the 100, 200, and 400 meters. In coverage he is solid, taking no unnecessary risks. Solid hands with 4 career interceptions, and is a threat to take it back after picks. Also returned kicks his Junior year at ASU. Plays with a lot of passion. Weaknesses A little bit shorter than you would like a corner to be, but at 5-10 it shouldn't really be a liability. He also is not a shut down corner, allowing big time receivers an occasional big game(DeSean Jackson of Cal had 5 grabs for 88 yards and 1 touchdown). Not as flashy or polished as the top corners in this year's draft. Projection Tryon is a well kept secret here on the west coast. But come draft time that should change if his workouts go according to plan. This is a corner easily capable of climbing to the first day, but as it stands right now, is a 3rd or 4th rounder. NYskins
And look, Trae Williams was passed over by another CB anyway... What do we know? You see?

Baculus
His size just isn't ideal for a CB - speed alone just doesn't cut it. As they say, you can't teach size...but what can you do? I also liked Erin Henderson if he was still available, but he may be around later as well.

Cambl2Moss
He sounds like an undersized CB:Position: CB Class: Sr School: Arizona State Conference: Pac-10 Ht., Wt.: 5-9, 190 40 Time: 4.55 BIOGRAPHY: Junior-college transfer who started the past two seasons. All-Conference selection as a senior after totaling 56/3/16. Junior-year totals included 47/7/1. Experienced kick returner. POSITIVES: Undersized cover corner who.s making a charge up draft boards. Fluid pedaling in reverse, smooth turning his hips, and quickly gets out of his plant. Displays a burst of speed to the ball. Stays with assignments, displays good instincts, and fights to break up the pass. Possesses good ball skills and does not get rattled playing against top competition. NEGATIVES: Not a physically strong defensive back and loses out to large receivers. Struggles making plays with his back to the ball. ANALYSIS: Tryon is a former sprint champion who.s slowly transferring his athletic skills to the football field. Best suited in a zone system or backed off the line of scrimmage, he offers the potential to be a productive nickel back at the next level. PROJECTION: Late Sixth Round http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/2008/draft/players/47984.html You are not correct. He actually runs a 4.41. He is a return specialist as well. I expect him to field kickoffs and possibly punts in teh future if he pans out.
da#1skinsfan
not sure what they are talking about with his frame...the dude is absolutely jacked for 5'9. he also looks fast on film...a sprint champion, this guy could be a decent sleeper pick for good corner depth. kwitt
None of us are scouts and none of us really are qualified to judge selections at this point in the draft. We simply don't know if he is going to be a good player.
LoudMouth12thMan
Doesnt sound like a great pick...and a huge reach. According to whom? You'd think he would be a stretch pick, but he's got a lot of upside according to most. Have you read stuff on him or watched the video? A "huge reach"? Nah, he looks pretty promising IMO. I didn't have anyone in mind to be blunt, but this guy does seem a little small... but then I am trying to remember what I was thinking when we drafted DG I bet Darrell would smack us both for questioning size ::Grin:: And you can't teach speed either - a slow tall CB still sucks  :2cents:
Ernie5
wow, short and slow he must have ESP or something Wrong, actually. Very fast. He runs a sub-4.4 (don't know where that 4.55 came from). More importantly, he's very tough. He could've gone anywhere from late-3 to late-6. Pick matches need. He also can help out in the return game. He fits in our D scheme as a nickel. Lombardi's_kid_brother
In general, I just don't like small CBs. Especially in a division with TO and Burress - not that he would ever be matched up against them of course.

He is 3 inches smaller than Champ Bailey and 2 pounds lighter -- best CB in the league right now. He is taller and weighs more than Darrel Green. I like the pick
Newera
Wow...tons of better CBs on the board, IMO. Scandrick, Porter, Grant, Wilhite, and a few others were better picks there. Oh well... Dude how do you know.

Jesus, Mary & Joe Gibbs
I think we could have gotten Dre Moore in the 3rd, and Chad Rinehart in the 4th round... This guy in the 5th... He could be a productive Nickle Back... I assume the Redskins are sticking with Springs for one more year and expect Rogers to be healthy this year along with Smoot... We could have some depth at DB... This has to be a scheme pick...
HoggLife
I wanted the CB from Wisconsin. He is hurt but he was the #1 CB in the draft before his injury. I am still hoping to get him!
Aston
Negatives: ...... Traps the ball rather than extending to pluck outside his frame and this has resulted in at least a half dozen of potential interceptions becoming merely pass deflections in 2007Well at least he's got Carlos Rogers to teach him the fundamentals of catching.
Monk in the Hall!
Who knows. He seems to have some positives. As we all know (or need to be reminded), everyone in the 4th round is going to have some flaws. If he makes the team and can provide DB depth- wonderful. My goal for everyone draft 4th rd and beyond is make the team and add some quality depth. You cannot have too much quality CB depth. Lets just hope he provides it.
