PleaseBlitz
Aw man, that sucks. Hell of a shot though. I killed a bird once, on accident. I was playing Goose Creek in Leesburg, and true to its name, there was a huge flock of geese chilling on the fairway. I figured i would just drive the ball over and past them, they were only like 150 yards out. So of course, my inconsistant game dials up this ferocious worm-burner and sure enough it found one of the geese. Ruined my whole day.

DGreenistheBest
Sucks. Feel bad for the bird but at the same time, I can see the guy's point about not thinking he would hit it. Still, have to face up to the punishment.
Heidenreich
Reminds me of a story. When we were in high school, my friends & I went to the driving range. Now, what does everyone do at the driving range? Try to hit the cart that's driving around. We all shot at it, we all missed, as usual. Then, my friend George hits a good shot, and nails the cart which is some 150 to 200 yards away. We all yelp & cheer & high five. The manager comes over & throws us out, because he "intentionally" hit the cart & could have injured his employee. And when we started yelling back & wanted to finish hitting, he called the cops to escort us out. What a jerkoff.....

China
He's an a-hole for trying to hit it on purpose, regardless of whether or not he thought he would hit it. At least Randy Johnson did it by accident: http://www.fugly.com/videos/5443/randy_johnson_hits_bird.html

BALLz
I don't know guys, I would imagine his intention was probably to hit a ball close enough to the bird to get him to fly away. Still dumb but maybe a better excuse. Also I didn't see where it said he was actually trying to hit the bird. All he said was I didn't think I would hit it. Yeah, I'm not saying he should be cut any slack. He should receive the full penalty.

I've played Goose Creeks many times. In HS and college my buddies worked there. Ah, free golf. Of course I still stink.

Mad Mike
Sad that any animal was killed needlessly but it reminds me of when I first moved up to White Plains in high school. I met this cute girl who live a few blocks over and my first Halloween I ran into her in front of her house and since I had a bag full of eggs I joked like I was going to throw one at her. I wasnt going to but she took off running down the hill... WAAAAY down the hill. So I figured what the hell, I'll never hit her from here and I chucked it. It hit her right on top of her head. She never spoke to me again.
jnhay
Stupid bird. You'd think it would fly away after 4 or 5 golf balls fly past it's head. It's just a bird anyway.
SUSkinsFan
I was playing golf a couple years ago and on my second shot, the ball went up and hit the top of a tree, the ball fell, followed by a bird.

What the hell? I worked as a range attendant as a Summer job back and the day and thought it was funny that ppl were trying to hit me. The only time it was no joke was when I was OUTSIDE the cart working on things. As for golf and birds, I had a buddy get chased by a goose on one hole (he got too close to a nest with baby geese) and then hit a goose with a shot on another hole. SAME DAY!  (The goose lived...its still a ratbird though)
