88Comrade2000
Line I've heard is in the movie. (Possible spoiler. I'll try to post it in black text. Drag your mouse over it if you want to see it.) Bond: I'll have a vodka martini Waiter: Shaken, or striied, sir? Bond: Do I look like a man who cares? Actually, I think that's already been reported in articles about the movie. I will be seeing it on Sunday. Got an email from someone who saw it and said it's very good. 88Comrade2000
In my mind Roger Craig is easily the best bond since Sean Connery, and legitimately rivals him for essentially (re-)inventing the screen role.If you've ever enjoyed any of the Bond movies, or think you might, go see this one. I did not know former San Francisco 49er was the new Bond. I thought it was Daniel Craig?
Eagles_Legendz
Very very good. I'm not a normal "Bond fan" but I liked this quite a bit.
nuposse87
its the best bond film since golden eye, albeit all the other ones since then sucked ass. It is a good movie, see it.
mardi gras skin
Casino Royale was for the Bond series what Batman Begins was for Batman, only better. Must see.

Larry
I roundly recommend it. The only reason I'm not anointing this as a better Bond than the Connerys is my policy of sitting on my opinions for a week before they "set". It's a long movie. (I think the showing I went to was about 3:00 including trailers.) But I even aprove of that. I think that if they'd tried to shorten it any more then some of the plot lines would have suffered. One complaint: Didn't like the music or the opening credits. (Although, I can't think of any theme music I've liked ever that wasn't written by John Barry.) I think that one scene of Massive Bondian Destruction was overdone.
@DCGoldPants
I enjoyed it also. There was one point where I felt they didn't do a good job of keeping the storyline going. However, I like the new bond, I think he's the meanest of them all. Also, he has alittle more of the sexist swagger that Connery had. Right now I think he's got a nice future if they keep the formula. No more overloading with special effects and junk. Let him fight his way through problems when outsmarting won't work. No more hotels made of ice, and lasers from space.

laurent
I personally didn't like any of the new Bonds including the ones with Brosnan. Hated every single one of them but since I was pretty fond of Bond as a kid I figured I'd give it a shot. Easily one of the best Bonds, if not THE best out of the ones released so far. The action is top notch and for once you don't have to turn the volume off once their is some actual dialogue. Craig isn't quite Sean Connery, but once you watch the movie there's no denying that he's near tailor made for this role. My only complaint is that the movie drags a bit near the end. I'd give it a very solid 8 out of 10. Even non-Bond fans should enjoy this flick.
laurent
Craig is a huge upgrade from Brosnan.Apparently this movie deals with a younger Bond who has just reached 00 status...and without giving the plot away, gives some insight into why he becomes the man he does in the other Bond movies. Casino Royal was the first of the Bond books Ian Flemming wrote. It's an origin story very much like the recent Spiderman, Batman Returns and the older Unbreakable. Just like the three movies I mentioned Casino Royal does a great job of introducing the character.

ashmomicmac
I saw it last night and it was a great movie , and for a Bond flick, it has raised the bar. The Bond actor will make you wonder in the time before you see this movie if a blond man can be Bond, but he is such a bad ass in this movie like a man of Bonds skills should be. I will have to add the dvd to my collection! I say ...go see it! (And I think the opening credits were pretty cool too, with Chris Connell singing. IMO)
Muskrat
My wife and I went to see it last night and it was excellent. Craig pulls of the 'softer moments' and REALLY pulls of the "I'm going to kick your butt" moments as well. I am agreeing with those who say that Craig is the best Bond since Connery. I liked Brosnan, but Craig raised the bar in what we get from Bond. Heck, it would be a great movie if it wasn't a Bond movie.
jbooma
This was one of the best bond films I have ever seen, and I have seen them all. The new Bond is great and do they have a hit with him taking over the franchise my question to everyone else is was the ending just a setup for the next one?? The new Bond is great and do they have a hit with him taking over the franchise my question to everyone else is was the ending just a setup for the next one?? Maybe. I heard they've already filmed the opening sequence for the next one; though it's not supposed to come out until 11/08. Originally, 5/08 but they pushed that date back. I liked it. Can't wait for the next movie. I like this Dark Bond. Wish the movie was like a regular Bond movie - Hmm saying: Bond, James Bond more than at the end and the theme song during the credits. I like the back story. Happy Feet barely beat it at the box office, but it should still have a good run.

88Comrade2000
One thing they need to bring back next time is a bit of the witty humor. Connery- the best bond still had some humor in him. It probably wasn't the place for this movie but next go around needs it.
Sarge
Great Bond film. And this is from someone who quit going because they had all become the same thing over and over. Much better writing , great character developement. It only slowed during one part, but since the rest of the film was awesome, I'll forgive it
timitim
I went to the is bond movie with an open mind because the Bond franchise is one of the few legacies in movies that is a tough nut to crack if you are a new actor playing the secret agent. Let me start off by saying that i was raised on Bond. I have been watching bond since i was a young tike in front of the television set. My father had purchased one of the first laser disc players when they came out. He then went out and purchased every bond available on laser disc and thus started my education. Sean Connery IMO the one and only. I can remember when Roger Moore came on the scene to replace Sean and fans were not so easily swayed in the beginning, but they warmed up to him later. I must say that in the tradition of Bond there were some things that were missing. Im used to seeing the Nude silhouette women in the beginning music credit sequence, but hey, thats cool. Im also used to seeing a Bond where you have NOT had the presence of Q. We dont get to see him in this movie and i can understand why due to the story line of Bond not yet really being a 00 yet. Since the Pierce Brosnan days though one notices the the action sequences are more intense and Bond begins to take a much more aggressive tone. This was a change that i actually like about the bond character. Hey if he has a license to Kill then use it damn it. Daniel Craig IMO is prolly the most intense Bond that i have ever seen since the days of Roger Moore. In even in some cases he is a little better. This guy hit the gym and hit it harder then the enamel on JAWS' teeth. This movie will have make you laugh ( the torture sequence had men both wincing with pain and laughing hysterically ), it will make you cry ( In the tradition of all Bond movies to take a perfectly bran new Austin Martin and destroy it ), and it will make you cheer ( the first time you get to hear "The name is Bond, James Bond ). I sincerely hope that this is a legacy that Daniel Craig hopes to keep up with at least 4 or 5 more movies. He could easily surplant other actors as the second best Bond there ever was. The rope scene is just one such example.
